As stated above, unlike the cats we are not pretenders. We will win a flag in the next 2 years. i was happy to cop it for my prediction, but it appears I was right. eat **********
That's the way mate, keep it optimistic. You've just beaten the rabble that is Geelong. Yep, big things to come from you. If only you could win 7 out of the last 4 games...

The thing is mate, I'll be 25 this year and I've been putting up with these insipid performances for my whole life. It gets to the stage where you think, why am I doing this?

Yeah i know how u feel, and i dont see how a team could not win 1 grand final in 4 attempts with the likes of Ablett, Brownless, Couch etc etc

Boy am i going to cop it at school 2moro. Essendon fans always seem to grow in their hundreds when they win.

Because you care too much just to walk away from it, and 'there is always next year' has you coming back with renewed optimism each year. God knows why.
I did care once, I don't anymore. That's one stupid and pathetic loss too many. Of course after the Fremantle, Collingwood and Footscray debacles the warnings were obvious. But surprise surprise not heeded. Silly of us to expect professional footballers to put in a competent and assured performance wasn't it? Useless, weak, lazy and disgraceful. At least it frees up weekends for the next 2 months.

It is only now on Monday morning that I have actually collected my thoughts and brought myself together. I was absolutely shattered on Friday night during the game, shattered is not the right word, more like angry, angry at the fact that as a mere mortal sitting back, I could see that we were going to loose the game, even when we were in front I thought that we didn't have a chance of winning and we would some how find a way to loose the game.
Why is it that we play players who have been injured, straight back in to the seniors, why not give a fringe player an oppurtunity to stand up and make the returning player earn their spot in the side and actually get some decent match time in to the legs in the vfl, rather than coming straight back in.
Look, I absolutely love the GFC and they come a very close second in importance to my family obviously being first, but when I see my team play such crap against a crap opposition that is going nowhere and playing for nothing, I have to ask "Do these guys want the ultimate glory?", and by the way that they have played in the last two weeks you have to say that they are not hungry enough. Does this come down to player management or just there desire to win, or are they happy enough to rock up to work collect their pay cheque and just do enough to get by?
I hope that we can get over the line against the saints and our players can pick them selves up and find some form, who knows if they do there is a chance we can still finish top four.
In my mind the jury is still out on GFC 2005 but if we loose this week, the verdict will be delivered next week.
