It is only now on Monday morning that I have actually collected my thoughts and brought myself together. I was absolutely shattered on Friday night during the game, shattered is not the right word, more like angry, angry at the fact that as a mere mortal sitting back, I could see that we were going to loose the game, even when we were in front I thought that we didn't have a chance of winning and we would some how find a way to loose the game.
Why is it that we play players who have been injured, straight back in to the seniors, why not give a fringe player an oppurtunity to stand up and make the returning player earn their spot in the side and actually get some decent match time in to the legs in the vfl, rather than coming straight back in.
Look, I absolutely love the GFC and they come a very close second in importance to my family obviously being first, but when I see my team play such crap against a crap opposition that is going nowhere and playing for nothing, I have to ask "Do these guys want the ultimate glory?", and by the way that they have played in the last two weeks you have to say that they are not hungry enough. Does this come down to player management or just there desire to win, or are they happy enough to rock up to work collect their pay cheque and just do enough to get by?
I hope that we can get over the line against the saints and our players can pick them selves up and find some form, who knows if they do there is a chance we can still finish top four.
In my mind the jury is still out on GFC 2005 but if we loose this week, the verdict will be delivered next week.
