Hawthorn has the worst colours possible for a sports team haha
As I've been saying for years: even if there weren't a million other reasons to despise them, the argument in favour of them being them being the worst organisation in world sport can be made on purely aesthetic grounds. They're a visual disaster.

I like that over the years they've still been consistently trying to find an even worse way to present themselves.

I can see Ratugolea having a really good game today. He's been close to clunking a few in the first 4 weeks and he's not far off. If he takes a strong mark early and builds his confidence he could really take this game by the scruff of the neck against a team missing their two best key backs.

He's my player focus for today.

8 marks and 3 goals to kick start his season.
Gee I hope you are rite on this.....

The more players they have out, the more nervous I get.

Today is entirely set up for a ‘Clarko masterclass’ and ‘backs against the wall’ victory.

Nothing short of a four quarter effort will get the job done today. If we find ourselves 4+ goals down in the first half, I will tear my hair out.
Me too fpm!

They had a depleted side the last time we played them, and they won. In fact, they controlled much of the game seemingly with ease. Hawthorn's list didn't look great throughout last year, but they still made top 4. Clarkson is a master coach and his sides are pretty much always hard to play against.

Agreed. I'm by no means confident today but I absolutely think we SHOULD win. Start of the year, looking at our fixture I had us anywhere from 3-5 to 0-8. I thought we would get smashed. Given we've started so well (I can accept the GWS blip) it would be very disappointing to give up this opportunity to go 4-1 into a game against a freshly thumped West Coast at our home ground. Our fixture opens up very nicely in a month or so and we can set ourselves up for a genuine tilt at finals as long as we don't drop games like today where we should have the opposition covered.

Now, it's Hawthorn vs. Geelong so I refuse to go in expecting a win and I've already prepped the defibrillator but this is a golden opportunity and if these guys are serious about atoning for what they saw as an unacceptable season last year, these are the opportunities they have to take.

Pumped for the game. Hoping Hawkins can have a big one. Would love to see Atkins get more involved after a few quiet games. Would love to see Guthrie earn his spot and silence some doubters. And while I respect the move of Selwood to wing, would love to see him at the first centre bounce today to set the tone.
It’s so deliciously set for us to lose its not funny. The only thing is that we lost week and team were very very pissed about it. That’s going for us. For them someone to pop up and cause havoc is almost a definite.

Two observations from this week.

1. We've really done a number on Hawthorn supporters. Is there a more bitter and deluded supporter base? Their 'head****ed' thread is irony at its finest.

2. I don't think I've ever seen another supporter base bitch and moan about umpires like the Hawks do. It's also irony at it's finest. Preemptive excuses followed by post-match excuses. It's really all they have to offer these days and it's sad.
You should see the Poos+Wees flogs on Twitter! It's hilarious + exactly as you said!

Will always remember when they beat us to go into the GF + leaving the 'G', all their fans could say was "Thank goodness we broke the Curse" WTF?
