The last Geelong "home" game (ignoring finals) against Richmond at the MCG was Rnd 7 2014 and the crowd attendance that day was 34,377 - if today is another low drawing crowd then surely the club would have a case that hosting Richmond at the MCG costs the club money as the fans aren't interested in turning up and that the match should be in Geelong - the fuss from there fans is more about knowing they struggle to win away from the MCG rather than not actually being able to get tickets for the match

Yeah I was gonna head to work straight after the game, but getting wet all day then not going home and getting a shower doesn't sound too appealing.
Just as an aside, I wouldn't take kids or women to any game involving Richmond. They have no respect for either and they are utter filth.

Yes, I do recall, however i reckon most of those wet weather specialists are gone, I do recall seeing Danger dominate back in the Crow's days in the slop.
Some are gone but Danger, Selwood, Gazza all awesome in the wet. + Tommy.
Haven't seen much of Parfitt or Stewart in the rain but I've got a feeling they'll go allright.

I agree. I did not take the kids to the final cause I knew they'd be feral no matter which way the result went.
Waiting at the station with kids amongst that s**t. F*k That.

I’ve heard Leigh Matthews repeatedly say Selwood is the best wet weather footballer he’s seen. I agree with Leigh. And that Tommy is a gun at the caper too. Big chance today.
Jimmy Bartel was the best wet weather footballer I've seen.

For those going to the game today..id say you can get ready for another example of "home game not"...
Not sure its a great idea to give this sort of petrol on the fire stuff out to opposition ..

You can call them the Tigers’ secret weapon, although they’re not really very secret, but the point is at last year’s qualifying final I’d never felt anything like what I did running on to the MCG that night.

It was supposedly a neutral game with no home side but the chorus of booing which rung out as Geelong entered the arena was certainly a shock to the system.

There were more than 95,000 inside the stadium that night but it didn’t feel like there were many Cats fans.

It was astonishing.
