This week's game at Colonial will be a good test for our young side to see whether they can beat the bottom of the ladder Blues. In the past, this sort of game is one Geelong tend to lose, but after the good performance last week in beating a top eight side in Melbourne, our young players will have gained lots of confidence and I think we can make it 5-6 going into the 2nd half of the season.

Go Cats!!

If Melbourne had any credibility and aspired to make the finals they should have belted us. Carlton have only won 1 game this year, mentally they will think that they can beat Geelong, this is a big danger game, the only thing that may save us is Carlton's shocking record at Colonial, if ever a football club needs to stand up and be counted it is Geelong this week.

The supporters might have a right to question the Club: if plan A is to play the kids, Plan B is to revert to plan A, Then why are Steve Johnson, Gary Ablett and James Bartel going to play in the VFL this week ?????????

basically it would be unrealistic to expect all the kids to play every game of the year. Give them a rest every now and then and manage them through the year.

My wife and I might make it to Colonial on Sunday. If so, where do all the BigFooty Cat fans sit, so we might be able to come around and say hi?

Cheers,
William

How could you leave out Rahilly after such a good game in the VFL last week?

I think he willl get a game for the Cats.

And where is big Menschy? Have the Cats just given up on him now?

because theres a big difference in the standard of AFL & VFL footy.Rahilly should be playing well in the VFL.

If Mooney isn't picked,Rahilly probably would play to replace Sanderson.

David Mensch is running around in the VFL, kicking a few goals and trying to work his way back into Mark Thompson's plans for this year. ;);)

I'm looking forward to seeing how Gardiner goes. I haven't really seen much of him play, hopefully Mark Thompson gives him lots of gametime.

WHAT A HEART STOPPER IN THE END!!!

After completely outplaying Carlton for 3 quarters, leading by 6 goals at the last change, we nearly let this one slip!! This is the first time I can remember being at a game where my team, Geelong kicked the goal after the final siren to win the game and what a HUGE buzz it was!! Peter Riccardi banged it home from 55 metres out to win the game for Geelong and leave us 5-6 at halfway and back in the pack.

I thought apart from Ricco who played a great game today kicking 4 goals, King and Street won the rucks, Ling played well as did Joel Corey, Corey Enright, Kent Kingsley, (4 goals) and Tom Harley in defence took some telling marks under pressure.

So, all in all, it was a great win by the Cats today, and I'm very much looking forward to the Swans next week at the SCG.

Go Cats!!

Unbelieveable... I thought it was a "mail it in" game at the end of the third term-- but after Riccardi's goal to win it, I swear it took me 20 minutes to get my heart out of my throat.

Just goes to show that while the Cats may have got out of jail, they need to play together for four quarters of footy, and learn how to see games out, and fast!

This may also be part and parcel of the young players learning on thge job, too... but let's enjoy this nail-biting win while we can. but for now...

...Peter Riccardi, you legend. :D

Cheers,
William
