Geelong Vs Carlton

Is Lonergan a chance for a re-call, anyone think?

Nope. He hasn't done enough to replace Taylor yet. As I just posted elsewhere, Carlton don't have two big forwards. Taylor is big enough to mind Fisher, and Scarlett will get Fevola.

First thing Geelong have to do is get rid of Varcoe and Gamble, for respectively Chapman (even if on only one leg) and Rooke. Bring in hard nuts for flashy players. Bring in Ottens for West and immediately it's a much, much stronger team physically.

The second thing Geelong must do is stop playing like millionaires taking the third option and start taking the first. Mooney in particular might like to occasionally kick the ball on his right foot instead of always swinging on to his vastly inferior left (a habit that has got worse and worse). Wocjinski might like to occasionally tackle someone by alternate means than falling on their back.

Next, attitude. Major area of improvement. Given that Collingwood matches historically are always physical, always tight and always a battle, I'm amazed that they could have expected anything less. Harley might not like fans expecting perfection - well we don't, we just want a hard, committed four quarter effort. Do that and we'll shut up. And we didn't get one quarter like that Friday night.

INs: Chapman, Rooke, Ottens
OUTs: Varcoe, Gamble, West

Then come out and play the first quarter like their lives depend on it.

Geelong's performance against Carlton this week is season defining. They have turned the culture of the club around in the last 18 months, now they have to demonstrate how they respond to a loss. It's yet another challenge, and one they must overcome.

the pies win will be a great dvd addition to all coaching staff for non geelong
clubs.
expect the blues to have studied this very carefully
i expect the cats to win by only 10 or so goals:o

"hope that geelong don't turn up" will probably be the conclusion. 'Cause that's what happened against Collingwood.

Slight chance depending on injuries [i.e Harry concussion].The only problem would be that Tom has played his best footy up forward in the VFL this year.Maybe Mooney to CHB and Tom and Tom up forward.

Hey,if we have 3 "Tom's" in our side will be be known as 'The Hookers' ? ;)

You never know what could happen

Geelong get beaten by Collingwood by 86 points and Carlton beat them by 4 goals, we probably wont win but we would have to be some sort of chance

Our ruckman have to stand up and take advantage of Blake and whoever if Ottens doesnt return, i thought our boys did a great job against Sandilands so i cant see why they cant provide some impact in this game

You've got to be kidding me. We barely knocked of Fremantle!

Geelong an absolute shoe in. They will respond in style. They are the best side of the past decade, and they will prove that.

Hoping for a ripper of a game, unfortunately we'll probably be blown away in the first quarter.

They beat Freo by a point.....we won by 8.

Anyway I think we will lose, but don't use that Fremantle example...

Agree... Any side playing Geelong, Adelaide or the Bulldogs next week will be up against it I'm afraid. ;)

Geelong to win easily. They will be one angry mob after what happened on Friday. It really sucks we are next in line. I hope we get within 40 points.
