Winner to go on to face Adelaide.

If Freo win and kick 11 or more goals, the final is in Perth.
If Geelong win and kick 19 or more goals, the final is in Melbourne.

Any other result and it is in Adelaide.

I'll be heading up for what should be a shocker!

Geelong squad:
IN : Mackie,Callan
OUT : Kingsley (Hamstring), Rooke (Concussion)

Geelong squad: Jimmy Bartel, Andrew Mackie, Tim Callan, Josh Hunt, James Kelly, Kane Tenace, Joel Corey, Tom Lonergan, Paul Koulouriotis, Charlie Gardiner, Shannon Brynes, Matthew Egan, Cameron Mooney, Nathan Ablett, Mark Blake, Matthew Spencer, Mathew Stokes, David Johnson, Gary Ablett, Matthew Scarlett, Brent Prismall, Paul Chapman, Will Slade, Darren Milburn, Tim Sheringham, Nick Batchelor, Corey Enright, Cameron Ling

I think it was always going to be a shoot out, Freo have the such an advantage on forward line that they would be silly to flood and this isn't a win-at-all-costs match, at least for us. Bomber has already indicated in his comments about the North match that it is counter-productive to flood in this competition.

I'd expect the winner to kick around 17-18 goals. Unfortunately I think that team is Freo.

So obviously Adelaide will host the final and Adelaide will win by about 4-5 goals.

In tonights game it's going to be Geelong by 31 points. But only kicking 1 Super Goal 13 goals

Connolly's always liked to throw a few extra men down back, and I don't see that changing tonight for the sake of our C-grade forward line. Once the extra men get the ball, the play for the Dockers starts from there, with their rebounding runners and all.

I'm sure Connolly realises that, pound for pound, their forward line is far superior to ours, but for the sake of their possession-styled game, I don't think he'll be changing his game-plan too much - especially considering how far its got them.

Good luck tonight guys and also for the rest of the season. You guys are probably my favourite side apart from Freo obviously and i think you will go a long way this season, tonight should be a good game of footy.

I'm not sure what to expect when I wake up tomorrow and check the score. Would be nice to win it but I suppose I can live without one at this point in the year. I reckon the Dockers have the edge, but it'll probably be fairly even.

This is the only game in VIC where I've thought Freo would actually get newhere near Geelong. And they could very well beat them too.

Hey catboys. CC does ussually throw someone back. Hope he doesn't. Glad this game is at the dome. Not because we have a good record there. But because i like watching games played there. We will have the better play but you will show a few clean passages of play around hf which will make it tight.

Yeah but what he was saying was that this is the first time he's thought Freo could win against Geelong. Obviously he didn't think so last year and with good reason at that stage.

I reckon tonight it will end. Freo seem too pumped up to win the fake cup.
They want to have a piece of silverware to shove up WCE's ass more than we want anything.

So we won but the big question is can we win the cup next week. Honestly I don't think so, Adelaide are the team to beat right now. Still having memories of St.Kilda - Geelong two years back as well.

When I saw Freos lineup up tonight I thought we were going to lose for sure. With an almost full lineup against Geelong who had what, 9 seniors missing I thought it was going to be a blow out. But they kept at it all night and came a way with the win. :D

The two Coreys and Milburn were fantastic in the last term.

I like the efforts of Tenace, Prismall and Egan. I thought Egan did quite well on Pavlich who was in good form and the Dockers go to man.

Prismall kicked some very very nice goals and is hard at the ball, while Tenaces speed was good and good to see him using it again.

Egan did a pretty decent job on Pav, limiting his effectiveness. He got a lot of it and took a heap of marks but he wasn't all that influential. Pav was leading wide and up onto the wings where Egan struggled to keep up with him (Spencer also trailed 25m behind McPharlan whenever he lead up the ground ). In the corridor Egan beat him one on one 4 or 5 times. I think Pav ended up with only the one goal from that bull******** free kick where Pavlich had hold of Egan if anything.

The way we were getting killed out of the midfield in the first 3 quarters, Sandilands tapping down the throat of a moving Fremantle player who kicked long into an open forward line, Pavlich could have had 8.

Goodness me Freo are ********weak. We ran over them without a key forward playing all night.
Close to half our best side out and they capitulated.

That's what I'd be concerned about if I was a Freo fan. I know we have plenty of depth but with the quality they had out there they should have beaten us.

Totally agree. And 10 points up going into the last... one or two more goals and they would have had it. Also important to note, they were playing for a home final (basically almost a guaranteed win next week), while we were playing for the dubious honour of going to Adelaide!!! (i mean who would want to go over there in their spare time, let alone to play footy? :D )

But great effort to CHAMPman, Enright and DASHER. When he went back to kick that supergoal, we all knew he was never gonna miss!!

Would love to see a better effort by Moons. It was frustrating he almost took a few grabs (and i hope my eyes were deceiving me but i think i saw him take a swipe at someone in frustration... luckily he missed his target)...

But all over good effort. The game was crap as in the first, but stepped up in different periods throughout the rest of the game. Hopefully we put in a more 4-quarter effort next week, cause we're gonna need it! Go Cats! :thumbsu:

Congrats guys. Your team deserved to win last night. Freo were not sure of themselves last night and lacked ability. Your team went out there full of confidence in themselves and that is what got them over the line.

I would go to Aami stadium next week to watch the game but the crap that the opposition team will dish out is enough to keep me away. (mate of mine is a cats supporter so would tag along with him).

The cow supporters are the biggest bunch of feral fans I have ever come across, and Im not talking about the young ones either. The older generation of fans are just as bad.

So if I head to the game next week I will definately be cheering on the CATS!!!

Its amazing the difference being there and watching on TV

Another week and another gear moved up. I liked the way we trusted our forwards to contest the ball, Enright in particular kicked some lovely nice low, long balls great penetration. Its shame we didn't have more guns up forward to make the most of it.
Liked Egans game, only seems a short time ago he was as green as Kermit but how important is he now, with Harley out we would stink like a week old fish without him. He was out gunned by Pav, who I rate as good as any in the AFL.To go with out getting creamed was good, to do what he did was better than just good. He and a few of our guys still lack a bit of cred with the umps, as the get a couple rough whistles. He quickly put it behind him and carried on.He is becoming very important to us and will make it easier for Harley to return.
Prismall contiued to impress. He is a quality kick and unlike Thurley he has great potential around the ground.Hes a mid that like to kick goals and I like it.He really nailed a couple of passes and got little cute with a couple but hey,I like a guy who trusts his own talent. If he learn not to bullet the pass but to passe to space like Travis Johnstone he will be a very damaging assist man. He may prove to be a very handy P32.Oh Mc'Welles you've done it again.Id be suprised if he doesnt start against Brisbane R1.
Blake, Probably a no win situation for him, tryed hard but when you playing against the Rialto the gig was always going to be tough. He needs to get into the field play more and get quicker at getting rid of it.Float forward a bit, kick a goal.He must maximize his mobility because he will hardly ever be the biggest ruckman. We are playing Mooney to much in their at the moment, hopefully its only because Ottens and Kings is out.
Lonergan,Gardnier. I must be missing something. The wraptures coming from the club doesnt match my obsevation and their results.
Nathan. He is still too young IMO.He doesnt get involved enough. He is being played before he is ready. Why? Its because what ever he does do , its all class. He need 2 years in the gym, 2 years in the boxing ring, he needs to flatten a couple of guys that are blocking his space. He needs better delvery and the on ballers need to know him better so he can dummie some leads. He a Prismall should immediately paired at training.

I think its coming together. With more tall talent on the ground we can really shake the leaves of the trees this year

Thanks mate! Make sure you wear your Port Jumper and really stick it up them when we win! I'm really p-issed they have the grand final over there. I mean, its not like you interstaters need any more advantages! :D

But all the same, thanks for supporting us.. we'll need all the support we can get.

(ps. why do u call them "cows" and do they still wear those caps with the big "A" on them?? The A in which that in my opinion def does NOT stand for Adelaide! ;) )

He was recurited the year we had to let go of Moloney to get Ottens, and at the time I thought of him as basically a replacement for Moloney.

The difference is Prismall can kick off the left foot and doesnt sticko his elbow up all the time.

We call them the cows for various reasons but the main one is that some d*ckhead painted a bunch of cows in those horrible colours. Regarding the hat, sorry I have no idea if they still have them but I know what the A stands for and yeah, definately not for Adelaide :D

Unfortunately, the game is played here because they kicked more goals through the NAB cup them your guys. Just hope for your sake that you dont have Brett Allen umpiring the game. He maybe a Geelong boy but thinks that the Adelaide team have cutier ass's then the Geelong team.

Best of luck but hopefully Geelong wont need it. The cows will come out to c*ck sure of themselves and lose it by heaps.
