Went with my ex who is a Cats supporter. I actually had a good day as I got super hammered.
That was the day you first knew the relationship was never going to work long term.

People who have nice things have no place with those who don't.

One filled with Geelong supporters I expect.

Interesting OP - there are much better reasons than train disruptions to keep me well away
Ebola? Breathing?

When exactly did breathing enter that post?
Between the time you quoted me and the time you posted your reply. Something else to keep you away.

Yes, it was a real humdinger. In the sprit of this thread I took the train and that was the least painful part of the day.
Just had a flashback to standing on the platform of South Geelong Station after the game. They'd given out some sort of TAC road safety placard that I guess looked enough like a hand that some kid walked past singing "Down Down, Melbourne are Down" like the Coles ad.

The thing about that game is that it came as such a shock that it was impossible to comprehend what had just happened. We weren't by any means a good side that year, but were on the verge of the top eight a few weeks and had won three games by 90+ points during the year. That result represents the whole #FistedForever era but even though the margin was more savage (and I remember standing there thinking that we've already got the biggest loss in league history, Geelong may as well kick another so I could be there to see the new record holder) the 148 point loss to Essendon in early 2013 was a far rockier bottom as far as I'm concerned.

Thank god that one I did miss, and readers of The Great Deepression (available at no actual bookshops) will recall fondly how I blocked the scores out all night while sitting next to a Bombers fan at a wedding and ended the night convinced we'd won based on his body language. I think it was the same day Fox Footy showed Ricky Henderson's dick in the Adelaide changeroom.

The 2010/11 Bailey years were absolutely wild. I don't think I've ever seen another team with such massive peaks and valleys.

Also, 2011 was a year of teams absolutely rodgering each other. It wasn't a great time to have the resilience of wet newspaper. There were 6x 100 point wins not involving Gold Coast, and I don't think Port gets nearly enough shit for losing by 300 combined in consecutive weeks.

Apologies to the OP for hijacking the thread, but I do find it ironic talking about how they should run trains to celebrate 100 years of a car company.

Well we did break up a couple of months later so who knows. Funnily enough she told me she loved me the night after that game. I didn't know how to react so I just stopped for a second with a confused look before ignoring what she said. So I daresay that might have had a bit to do with us breaking up soon after.

I missed the bombers one as i was up with mates at an evening picnic in the mountains. But i tuned into the last quarter on the radio and really thought the club was dead or going to be very soon

My mate got us some "good" tickets for 186, was right near the Dees bench.. surround by nuffy cats members. Had enough of that by halftime as I figured I was probably going to end up hitting someone so I spent the 2nd half in the Lamby's tent getting smashed instead, still had my Dees jumper on so got a lot of fake sympathy from alcoholic Cats fans which was nice.
