Have the AFL put a contract in place to reserve stadium for potential finals?

Giants home game with just 25k at the game in rd1.Played a game there this season. Do better.
The Swans vs Pies game was a sellout a few weeks ago; the 2012 Swans vs Pies Prelim final at Stadium Australia got 57k; the 2006 Swans vs Freo Prelim final, also at Stadium Australia got 61k… (in case you are not aware, the current capacity of the SCG is 48k)This isn't the slam dunk you think it is.
Sydney have played plenty of finals at Stadium Australia. One The reason they stopped was because crowds stop going. They get more fans at SCG than they do at that shithole despite the lower capacity.

Funny you should mention that, Chris Scott suggested that the GF be rotated between the major venues.

He said it is a major advantage for the MCG clubs to be able to play the GF at the MCG.so he doesnt advocate finals should be at their home ground? that is funny and contrary to what you want....
on a side note, which is your normal account as i presume this is your account for when you are suspended....joined 2016, 70 odd posts of which half are in this thread.....![]()
He said it is a major advantage for the MCG clubs to be able to play the GF at the MCG.
This is my one and only account.

It was in the same press conference where he said Geelong ask for 11 home games at KP (not granted) and mentioned that most people accept that the GF is a neutral game.yet doesnt want the grand final to be at that clubs home ground?![]()

So a Pies v Coll grand final at the MCG would be a neutral game but not the qualifying final?
seems like yourself and all of geelong dont know if you're arthur or matha.
I can explain it to you but I can’t understand it for you.
Read the thread.you havent explained it though - a geelong vs collingwood grand final would be a geelong home final as much as last weeks game was a geelong home final
Read the thread.
exactly, you cant explain it because people pick and choose which way they want things to go.
You want your home finals to be played at Geelong but the grand final at the MCG no matter who is playing. You are inconsistent and probably why nobody takes you seriously.....
You understand that the "Pies" and "Coll" is actually the same team?So a Pies v Coll grand final at the MCG would be a neutral game but not the qualifying final?

It is not the same for two reasons. A) Sydney would not expect a 90k crowd at the bigger stadium. B) the smaller stadium in question is significantly bigger than the smaller stadium in Geelong's case. The Swans vs Pies game was a sellout a few weeks ago; the 2012 Swans vs Pies Prelim final at Stadium Australia got 57k; the 2006 Swans vs Freo Prelim final, also at Stadium Australia got 61k… (in case you are not aware, the current capacity of the SCG is 48k)
So I ask you, why is ok to cite locking crowds out as a reason for Geelong not being able to host finals but it is acceptable for Sydney?
And compared to most clubs Geelong is a MCG club.He said it is a major advantage for the MCG clubs to be able to play the GF at the MCG.

Not that it is any of your business, or anything to do with the thread, I chose not to engage with Bigfooty for a while.Yeah thats a typo, my bad, i fixed it.
what have you been doing with your time between 2017 and 2022? i wonder which account you really are/were and what you are currently suspended for....![]()
The principle of it is still the same though. It is not the same for two reasons. A) Sydney would not expect a 90k crowd at the bigger stadium. B) the smaller stadium in question is significantly bigger than the smaller stadium in Geelong's case.
We are talking locking out 50k+ compared to locking out 10k max. It is a world away.
Geelong does not get to pick where they play finals…And compared to most clubs Geelong is a MCG club.
Not Collingwood's problem that finals venues have always been about the AFLs demand for more lucre.
You have followed poorly.
A WC v Port final, no guarantee will get anywhere near the 60k at the G that it would get at Optus.
Hence home State for early rounds enables the AFL to almost guarantee packed houses across the country.
Not Collingwood's problem that final games are determined by the AFL on a state basis.
Externally Geelong officials aren't going to publicly complain about the unfairness of forcing the team that finished at the top of the table to play in what is essentially at the opponent's home ground as it could come across as having a defeatist attitude and demoralise the playing group (i.e. have no faith they can beat Collingwood) before the ball has been bounced. Internally, like the average supporter, I don't think they're over joyed about giving the Magpies this much of an advantage when they don't deserve it.Didn't you read what was said?
The club agrees they should be at the MCG.
