The last time Richmond defeated Geelong was in 2006.

The last time Richmond defeated Geelong at the MCG was round 12 1999.

Only a few weeks ago, Geelong without their FF and Captain. Still won!

Geelong is the only side Damien Hardwick has never defeated as coach.

The last time Richmond won a Final on September 8th was in 1928.

Geelong hold the greatest ever winning margin against Richmond during this time, when they defeated Richmond 222-65. The worst loss in Richmond's history.

The Tigers have won 1 of the last 21 against Geelong.

Richmond last won a final in 2001, and lastly, in 1995 when Richmond finished third and got the double chance, had their pants pulled down against...Geelong.

The statistics are quite ugly, it's the Ultimate Powerhouse Vs. The Ultimate Underdogs.

As a Richmond supporter, the odds are so stacked against us, we're a knife in a gunfight. But I'll be there, just because ...

This year a heap of the trends had continued as well. Geelongs record against Richmond. Collingwoods record against Geelong (first game). Dogs losing 6 Friday night games in a row. Sydneys great record against Geelong in Geelong and recently Adelaide in Adelaide. However, there were a few trends broken too.

Geelong recent finals record is horrible. They have been a very solid unit as well so it's surprising just how woeful they've been since 2012.
I expect this not to change at all this year. Yes they finished 2nd but Geelong is a fragile club in September. Dangerfield will get 36 touches and kick 2 goals but Richmond don't rely on individuals to win games.
Expect Richmond to jump Geelong by 5 or 6 goals in the first half. It's what Chris Scott and his coaching panel do this time of the year.

Richmond are leading by 5 pts in the dying seconds and have possession at chb. There's an interchange infringement. Free kick Geelong and 50m penalty.

Danger kicks the winner from 10m out after a goal review following his shank.

Geelong go onto to lose the prelim after yet again falling to handle a bye.

It's shit we've got to wait almost 2 weeks to see it. **** you AFL

You're actually a troll yes?

Tigers definitely the underdog. After losing to Geelong who were without Selwood, Hawkins, Duncan, Blicavs, Cockatoo and whoever else was out it'll be amazing for them if they won this with all our history and their own poor finals history.

Stakes are huge in this one, the victor really will get the spoils. Win and it's a home prelim against most likely a Giants/power or eagles while a loss means you front up to most likely a Sydney outfit having won 15 of their last 17 games.
Tigers to get the finals monkey off their back while at the same time breaking their geelong drought in front of 95,000. It's gonna be a rocking Friday night.

Tigers slipped through off of a dream fixture, they've beaten nobody, you think they're gonna beat 3 of the top teams in a row? LOL some people.
Slipped through? Haha. Ok I'll bite. Lost 3 games in a row by under a kick with 2 of them in the last min of the game. At the same time cats won every close game including winning 2 when their opponent missed easy shots with secs remaining. All this and still finishing 2 points off top position. See you in 2 weeks.

Slipped through?
1/2 a game behind your lot with a better %
You don't like your chances either?
Think his mostly talking about their double up games.
Brisbane 18th
Carlton 16th
Freo 14th
St Kilda 11th
GWS 4th

Beat 4 of the other 7 finals teams with losses to cats by a couple of goals and swans by 9 points. Only top 8 team that got a hold of us were the crows. We hold no fears facing any team.

So not a real lot of difference to Geelongs double ups, you got Adelaide twice, the rest similar, so my point stands, he must not give your lot much chance either.

If you want to look that way but if you rank them from hardest to easiest and compare them Geelongs games were harder in every level.
1st v 4th
4th v 11th
12th v 14th
13th v 16th
14th v 18th

Geelong had a reasonable fixture, but as I said Richmond was far easier.
