this has nothing to do with the 22 blokes each club is trotting out tomorrow.

it's to do with geelong fans all of a sudden demanding they should get home finals at simmonds, after playing 1(?) in the afl's existence...

how dare you bring football, and success into it ;)
How dare we look at getting a return on a $200million investment

Oh get over it will you

Only a moron would think playing a game that will get 100k to at a joint that fits 30k plus is a good idea

Honestly it's pathetic

Simmons stadium is a hole and no one other than cats fans wants to go there.
You have ALWAYS played your home finals at the G so don't expect to change it now coz you put some new plastic seats and a scoreboard into kardinia park

It's a lovely ground. Much better than the Bulldog's home grounds in Cairns and Ballarat.

not concerned in the slightest about where the QF is played... bit bemused at the ferocity of opposition to it being at the MCG. dont remember hearing many, if any, complaints about it before this year.

and if we arent good enough to make the PF straight up, im glad it will be richmond getting there. i really like the tigers.
I'm another Cat who doesn't care about the venue. Learn to play well at the G and we can win the flag. IF we make it to the Granny then we will have had two good performances at the G, Purrfect preparation for the decider, especially against an Interstate team.

You do realise that the gate for finals goes to the AFL, don't you?

At best you'd get a fairly nominal ground hire that would do little more than cover expenses. (perhaps even less...the AFL might consider it a return on THEIR investment in your ground).

Regardless, even Geelong would make considerably more money from 98K at the G than from 35K at KP.

The Geelong economy would enjoy it though. The council getting coin from the league hiring the ground and all the massive parking fines to go into services like libraries, the surrounding restaurants and businesses getting extra customers, locals getting an extra day of work running the food outlets and operating the gates. Geelong is a city as well as a club.

And a few flags in the last 35 years as opposed to none

Can't believe the tigers supporters talking it up whe they have done nothing
AT ALL since most of them were alive to see.

Apart from Melbourne have been the highest failures in since the AFL started so enjoy tomorrow and pray you don't lose coz this is your only chance to pinch one.
Shhhhhhh... time for you to take your rightful seat at the little table again and watch the big teams play. You had your go last year.

It's a million times better than punt road is or ever was.
lol, this is where you're at?

it is better than punt rd, but we aren't the fcukwits asking for a home final at a local football ground...
imagine how ridiculous it would sound if richmond fans were demanding finals at punt road.

that's what you lot sound like...

Well, if we're looking at the total economic benefit, then the state government (who also made a significant investment in your ground) would probably prefer 100K people go out and spend money in restaurants and businesses than 35K.
