Who is the only side to put all their own profits into the upgrade of the ground they play in?
How much have Richmond or Sydney put towards the MCG or SCG upgrades?

No idea about Sydney, but Richmond (indeed, all Vic teams, but less so for Geelong) have put a lot of money into both the MCG and Docklands through receiving lower ground returns.

Based on finals performance 2012-2016, Geelong is as much an underdog as Richmond, especially at the MCG.

No excuses for the Cats this year. Second on the ladder, beat teams including GWS, Richmond, Adelaide this year, Danger, Selwood, Hawkins, Taylor, Henderson and an actual ruckman all available.

If you take a loan to pay for something and then have to pay the loan and interest back, is it real money?
How much of Richmond actual profits have been put towards upgrading the MCG as a number? Not as a possible number but how much the club has actually put forward from its bank account.

I don't know the exact number but I do know we receive less revenue due to payments for the upgrading of the MCG (and Docklands), and that reduced revenue is REAL MONEY that contributes to lower 'actual profits'.

Geelong borrowed money for their stand upgrades...the payments and interest reduce their profits and funds available for other uses for years to come. Are those loans, and the the interest/repayments not 'real money'?

Just because there are 3rd parties involved doesn't make it less 'real'.

Have you reported your concerns using the report function?
No, I haven't.

But I do think it is in everyone's interests to have some clarity on when is a Game Day not a Game Day thread, particularly when other threads significantly further removed from this as far as game day commentary goes have been locked pretty much immediately as they are created whilst threads like this one are apparently ok?

Geelong hasn't borrowed money to pay for the upgrades the money has come from our profits.
Likewise we have paid off Etihad upgrades by having to play "home" games there because tenant clubs sell games away from there. And given that Geelong also plays home games at the G aren't they too paying off that due to receiving less revenue in a similar manner?
Given the club has spent $17million on upgrading KP shouldn't they expect some return on that investment?

Yes, you did borrow money. Check your financial reports.

Yes, you helped pay a bit for Docklands, and the MCG from your home games at those venues.

As for a return on investment....Well if you require 11 home games + finals to get that, then clearly your club stuffed up massively by not getting a guarantee from the AFL that you'd get those games before you spent the money.

BTW. My club spent millions upgrading Punt Road oval...Why don't we get to play games there? Surely we deserve a return on investment too?

Personally I don't think records mean much for Chris Scott's Geelong. Their streak against Hawthorn ended in the 2013 PF. Their ridiculous record at home against Fremantle ended in the 2013 QF.

They've actually gone out of their way to lose finals in recent years when they've been favourites or had good records against their opposition.
Called it.

Soft underbelly.

I'd change it from "Chris Scott's Geelong" to "Joel Selwood's". Not a good captain, he's an impetuous ducker.

We certainly will. I don't know what everyone is bitching about. We get to play a team that can't win a final against anyone, let alone a team that they haven't beaten at the G since 1999. We should well and truly waltz into the prelim, with or without half our team.

If we lose, well I suppose we will just blame it on umpires or something. That seems to be the go to excuse. In reality, if we can't beat Richmond at the G, we aren't a serious final contender anyway.
At least you got one thing right, you really aren't a serious contender. Make sure you don your bombers beanie today:)

What sort of cut does the MCG get from the sale of 95,000 finals tickets? Or 56,000 at every Richmond home game?
