I found that out going to see football in Spain.Because we're brought up on the (for want of a better word) 'English' style of game, we expected a similar type of crowd - especially singing. I discovered the Spanish don't sing, but they do like to whistle.
Every sport has its own unique attributes and flavours that make it unique. I don't want anything from elsewhere imported by force into the viewing experience. Because it isn't needed.
Exactly. I went to all four of the major sports in the US while I lived there, at pro, college and feeder league levels, and the way they do things from sport to sport have similarities, but are different. It also varies from team to team within those sports as to how they go about it.
Funnily enough, you'd think that US support would be on the whole very manufactured, but it surprisingly isn't in many ways.
