Would about someone like Grant Tanner? Average player but he was a hard arse and a good tagger in his time.

Watch the '07 prelim again. Ablett jnr's goal to get us over the line I would have thought typified someone, albeit who is highly skilled, that "willed" himself to win that contest and the game. Competitiveness is shown in different ways. Ablett may have won his share of uncontested possessions but in his glory years at the club he was also our leading contested possession winner.

Matthew is 10x the full-back/footballer that John was, though John wasn't shabby either - but Matthew Scarlett was something else. Easily our best full-back in the modern era. Number 2 would be Gary Malarkey.
