`Also met Rio Ferdinand who blew us away with knowledge of AFL. `That is what Geelong play,' he said. Great guy.''

Might be a stretch, but should someone at the club get onto him for a photo opportunity?

As a point of discussion, who do you think is the Cats' most famous fan?

We know about plenty of politicians who support us, but on a worldwide scale would it be someone like Guy Pearce? (along the lines of Eric Bana for the Saints)

Thoughts?

Certainly a big, global shift from the days of Happy Hammond!

You have to consider level of fame as well as level of actual fandom (ie no Collingwood-style 'hand them a guernsey for a photo op' crap). In that case, it has to be Guy Pearce.

I wonder if these BIG supporters are true supporters,
Warney, Eric Bana, Molly Meldrum, at least they are paid up Saints supporters.
Guy Pearce definitely is...he's at the MCG all the time. I do like seeing the passion of those St Kilda guys, don't get me wrong, but I reckon there's other supporters like Pearce who just like to stay out of the spotlight and enjoy the footy.

Still, regardless of anyone's political affiliation, we've done pretty well having Bracks and Ballieu on our side in recent years. Both what I consider to be 'true' supporters as well, though I suppose that's not unusual for a Victorian Premier (compared to Prime Ministers, where there's a good chance they don't give a toss about footy, for example).

Apart from that, I'm with Partridge. Happy for these people to like Geelong and more than happy for them to come to the games. But stay the **** out of the coaches box and the huddle after the game.
