Geelongs New Faces - Inside Football

Harry Taylor
: 193cm, 91kg
Spent 2 seasons playing senior football for East Fremantle so could make a mark next year. Has above average speed, endurance and agility for a plyer his size.

Dawson Simpson: 205cm, 91kg
Project ruckman who has put on 20 kg in the past 2 years. Will need plenty of time to develop and has lots to learn.

Scott Simpson: 196cm, 92kg
Likened to Nick Riewoldt with his workrate from CHF. Super professional and dedicated to being the best he possibly can.

Dan McKenna: 195cm, 85kg
Skillfil tall who has excellent skills for a player of his size.
Presenting forward whose best asset is sure-handed marking, according to Gippsland coach Adrian Hickmott.

Adam Donahue: 182cm, 83kg
Father-son selection. Clever onballer who reads the game well, uses the ball with precision and can kick a goal.

ROOKIE DRAFT

Brodie Moles: 185cm, 84kg
Super quick HF with a great eye for goal and a penetrating kick.

Jeremy Laidler: 188cm, 82kg
Terrific left foot kick who can play at either end. Has a great set of hands.

Chris Kangars: 193cm, 84kg
Super quick tall with enormous engine. Very raw in terms of football development.

Shane Mumford: 200cm, 110kg
Played 6 games for Geelong's VFL side this year.

2007 DRAFT REPORT CARD

We get a B
Replenished tall stocks with 3 key position players and a ruckman. It will be as many as 5 years before judgement can be passed on the class of 07. Scott Simpson and McKenna are no-frills types but professional and dedicated.

Given we started at the end of the pecking order I believe that Wells and the recruiting staff have done a very good job in replenishing our stocks.
Agree that we won't know if any of them will make the grade for a few years but it looks like their all quality kids.

Looks good on paper at this early stage and Wells seems to have a knack at picking guys and moulding them into something special. But as already said theses guys are coming into the best side in the comp and will have a long wait to really make there mark, but they have the best to learn from.
