Yeah, there was no prima facie stuff as such, but if you put into context of Thompson's outburst last night "why should Doc Reid and I cheat after 40 years?" yet no inclusion of Hird in that statement plus Hird holding meetings away from the club and away from prying eyes. It really provides a platform for a rogue coach to go off and perform rogue actions. It also explains why the club itself believes it has done nothing wrong, it simply wasn't aware.
Lack of basic governance at Board level might haunt them though. Tough I know, but illegal behaviour reaches to the top.

The pees and poos and the toothless filth implicated in performance enhancing drug scandal. Can't say I'm shocked and help but feel jibbed by these bastards. Could have had five flags if it wasn't for the 'whatever it takes' mentality that pervades the entitled corrupt mentality of the so-called 'big' clubs.

Essendon's then sports scientist Stephen Dank allegedly wrote in a text to Hird last April that West Coast, Collingwood and Hawthorn were "biologically advanced''.

That is total and utter crap, my kids play against teams wearing bomber jumpers - nothing ever gets said despite them being quite a dirty team. We had one of the Bombers out at our club a couple of weeks ago, the most controversial thing said was that he said that Ballantyne is footy's most whackable player. Whilst my son calls the Bombers drug cheats, he doesn't confuse the AFL team with local footy.

Kids are more sophisticated than that, mine wears a hawks jumper each weekend but still hates Hawthorn. This myth is the work of Ian Hanke.
How can it be crap if it's what Essendon people have said is happening to their kids at school etc?
Back off on the shiraz Jim.

*I'll just settle for 2008 being declared null and void and the 2007-2009 flags becoming officially "back-to-back"! :p
Wow, I would have to find my hawk loving Neighbour and ask him "how'd you like'08?" "your just upset because of '08" My Lord, the comments they used to fling at us, would be even sweeter back the other way!

Did you see 7.30 report tonight? Hird's texts from 2011? referring to teams he wanted to emulate the supplements program etc of, teams he was a bit suspicious of and wanted to catch up to them. No mention of the Cats-just Pies, Hawks and Eagles-haha. Who'd have thunk it?
Is this why Vlad took the Pies and Hawks presidents overseas to discuss "equalization"?

Seriously what are the chances that the 3 clubs of which Vlad has reps with him in the states are the 3 clubs questioned in these messages from Hird...

It's likely just a freaky coincidence... but part of me can't help but think there is more to it as well
I think the third one is the doggies. I think they took Smorgan. But how can you discuss equalization with 3 clubs and be equal?

I very much hope that this whole "supplements" issue stops at Essendon. If it was to tarnish several other clubs (even those clubs Geelong supporters really hate) it would be undoubtedly be bad for the whole AFL competition. I can easily imagine AFL sponsors terminating their agreements and the AFL attracting the general scorn of the Australian public.

Got the interview on now. Robinson: "My biggest mistake was leaving Geelong Football Club. Because they are a great football club."

The whole quote:

“I’ve made this statement I don’t know how many times now.
My biggest mistake was leaving Geelong Football Club.
That is my biggest mistake.
Because they are a great football club”.
