Well isn't it fantastic that we had Ling sticking up for Geelong, McVeigh sticking up for Essendon, Darcy sticking up for Eddie McGuire, Matthews sticking up for the coaching fraternity, and Bruce sticking up for Channel 7's interests .......

All sounds real cosy like
That's a big part of the problem. Too many vested interests suckling on various AFL teats.
Whatever the ultimate outcome Hird has lost his shine, in my eyes at least.

Robinson seemed all over the place, very emotional, frustrated and angry. His lawyers would have known some of the accusations toward Essendon would infuriate them, must have some damming evidence up his sleeve or knows he has nothing to lose if suicide has already plagued his mind.

Pretty unfortunate circumstances, for a person to be in that state of mind, as Lingy said himself...it's only a game (or words to that extent).
Even so, his body language especially eyes, screamed truth. There was no perception of eyes left indicating thinking up a lie, or hesitation, even to his own detriment in answering. He was pumped. Everyone I spoke too today who watched, and some were pretty ignorant of the saga, said on a human level that they believed him. Apart from his children, it appears he felt there was nothing else to live for, so he knows Essendon will lie the shitter out of themselves and there is no light at the end of the tunnel for him. Just horrendous legal fees and no going back, reputation destroyed and doing this interview for some cash. The bombers will be laughing, home scott free.
What was of major interest was the $60,000 odd invoice that ended up on HIS desk.
That's ten years worth of Gatorade substance for Geelong.

The Mary Poppins Channel 7 panel Hird love fest was a gutless disgrace.

They took banned drugs that they believe were legal.

They know it. They just dont want to take responsibility for it.

Spike is an idiot.
On the subject of McVeigh, I remember hearing a few years ago how he was bawling his eyes out in the rooms after Gary Ablett junior had towelled him up in a practice match.

Probably speaks volumes about the guy if it's true.

Bahahahahaha! That's a unique Geelong measuring stick - he'd have a few mates on that score.
He's well spoken though, I'll admit, even if he looked like he had a rod stuck up his ginge.
Why was he there? We certainly wouldn't be hoping for an objective opinion from that bombers flog.

A fella I follow on twitter (cats fan) tweeted saying he was watching the interview with a mate who was a senior detective with 18 years experience, he said his mate said instantly that the weapon was telling the truth

Just from his body language/tone etc I'm assuming.. interesting how much it can all give away.

I also saw Hird when asked about the raiding of his house.. just looked smug but he had clearly heard the story before..

As someone said the question isn't if it happened... it's if Hird told the weapon it did.. Instead they are making Robinson the bad guy by him saying it

I think that McVeigh is just thick... one minute he is adamant Robinson is lying about 'collecting the players together and addressing the program/concerns', and then the next he confirms that Robinson and Dank held a meeting. Far too connected and emotional to comment on the story.

Couldn't agree more with the bolded. It was so obvious he was going to defend the guy he'd played with for years instead of some guy who'd only been at the club for 18 months or so.

Like Robinson said in his interview, who at Essendon is going to question James Hird? Even if Hird was doing everything Robinson alleged he was doing, McVeigh was never going to come out on national television and admit his mate was doing the wrong thing.

You know he was telling the truth because he said Geelong was a great club and Essendon was a crap club.

Haha -Sam is actually a bit embarrassing with his dinosaur routine-just refusing to allow any rational thought enter his view.
Sam is either sleeping on a :hearts: Hird pillowcase or has a pathological lack of human empathy. Probably the latter.

100% correct. With Bomber and Robinson at Essendon, Hird, Dank and co would have a total breakdown of everything we did. The fact Hird never mentioned us in any of his texts says, to me, that whatever our training or supplement regimes were when Robinson was at the club are a complete non-story.
Don't forget Macca and Ego as well that's four ex Geelong people so if there was anything untoward going on you would expect one of those four to say something

or when reimers had that interview at the start of the year and mentioned the players didnt know what they were injected with. the next day mcveigh is on the radio saying he knew exactly what was injected and called reimers dumb and just bitter he was delisted.

truth comes out, mcveigh isnt entirely sure what he was injected with.

The Switowski report suggested there was a clique at the club who knew precisely what was going on and those outside it were kept fairly much in the dark. So I very much doubt Ego or Macca were fully across what was transpiring so bad were the protocols at that club.

Chicago Bulls, Aussie Swim Team,
I had to agree with Gerard Whatley's take on the interview too. He was pretty scathing in how he thought C7 had conducted the interview on 360 tonight. Disgusted not one pertinent question was asked about what drugs were taken and thought even the way it was staged with that big satanic looking Hird picture in the background just highlighted the sensationalist nature of the interview.

Too be fair to Ch7 they more than likely asked the questions but the lawyers would have stepped in a stopped them being aired

Can you believe, the one they want us to believe is Mr Clean now wants an injunction placed upon the ultimate findings, if that's a fact then Hird is all Robinson said and more.
Kennett said the other day the public will never be told the truth, unfortunately he's probably right!

So, Hird, who has maintained all along that the club and himself have done nothing wrong, now wants to ensure the public won't hear the findings of the ASADA report, the one document he must surely be depending on to prove his innocence?

If he knows he is innocent of any wrongdoing he should be meeting the postman at the mailbox with a copier and a few million stamps ready to lick seeing that the report is meant to be clearing his name is it not?

I would have thought so... he keeps saying they can't wait till the truth comes out... and now when it looks to be soon he wants to make sure it doesn't come out

Well said, Hoffy.

Just gets more laughable by the day, really.

Whatever else 'Sir James' has done or not done, I don't think there's any doubt he talked a very big game with people like Robinson and Dank and is now very embarrassed by the prospect of these matters being outed before the general public.

To think that DR just dreamt up the stuff about the AFP raid for example just makes no sense. I have no doubt Hird told Robinson that story (whether there's any truth to it or not) and is now trying to scurry away from being exposed as someone who 'bigs himself up'.

And he obviously has learned nothing from the injunction remedy sought by famous sports stars like Ryan Giggs in the U.K. It doesn't work. The story always breaks.

And just makes the perpetrator look even more pathetic for trying it on in the first place.

Whatever you thought of Robinson's interview the other night, I believe his final words told a lot of the story. When asked what he would say to Hird now if they met, he calmly announced, "Tell the truth."

Great advice, I would say. But you'd imagine there's next to no chance of it happening.

Hirdy's ego just won't allow it.

Also something else that annoys me... Hird last week says this just has to end and people's health depends on it etc...

Then hires a QC ready to fight...clearly happy to drag this into a lengthy court process...

So basically this needs to end... unless I am found guilty.. and in that case f**k the club and everyone else this is going to keep dragging on
