I wouldn'y get aheads of yourself, you've got Freo to play then you can think about Geelong on the rebound.

I'm actually quite confident next week. I know we don't wanna settle for an honorable loss, but I reckon next week I would at least. I reckon it'll be good for us to play a really good team, and push them. Don't think we'll win but I reckon we are a chance to be within a few goals at 3 quarter and lose by about 4. A game like that could be a turning point for us.

Hopefully all listed Carlton players were watching tonight.

Listening on the radio, it wasn't that Collingwood were better skilled, they were harder at it, they wanted it more and they were willing to throw their body on the line.

If we had the same desire and attack Collingwood had tonight we will make Geelong's life very hard as they play the free running softer football and the hardness tonight exposed them.

Geelong IMO have been very average this year, 3 of their wins have came against 3 of last years bottom 4 in RFC, Ess & Melb. They only fell over the line against Freo who are very poor this year, they only beat PA by 9. The other wins against StKilda who are average and Brisbane and Sydney both of which were at Skilled Stadium.

So they haven't been impressive.

In saying that, if we got a flogging i would hope the boys responded.

8 / 9 wins preety good in my books , your being critical of geelong here, they havent been at there sparkling best , who knows maybe there just bored of winning ? id be bored if i was a geelong supporter.

i wonder how many geelong supporters went last night expecting a big win , but not to collingwood , seriously all credit to the magpies they knocked over in alot of peoples eyes the unbeatable's (please forgive me i have sinned).

I hope geelong play a good game next week , and i hope we beat them , while there playing good footy , not shizen footy :)

Apart from your quote i noticed your screen name is banga lance's nickname . just thought id let you guys know hes kicked 16 goals in two weeks.
He will also more than likely kick another 8 this week.

Meh It's not too good to look ahead 2 weeks ahead generally.
Just focus on this week, and next week can sort itself out.

I was last night thinking the same....We're gonna be up against a fired up Geelong. Shows how much we need to win today because next week i think we're f**ked.

Goes to show - if you put he pressure on and tackle hard; any team can beat any other team on the day. I think the cats loss is a positive for us, especially if we can have a confidence boost against freo tomorrow. I will be there. Carn the bluebaggers!

Well said! But lets use this principle today first and beat the Purple Faze. They say we are soft but Freo just wish they were tough. Lets play good honest hard nosed old fashioned footy today and worry about puss in boots next week

Called a premiership hangover. Not unusual for the reigning to premier, lacking the real hunger, to scratch wins before a big loss starts a run of losses (not necessarily consecutively). Geelong have had lift lift enormously recently just to dig themselves out of some holes. Were ready to be pumped. They may pump for a week and pump us next week but it wouldn't surprise either if Geelong struggle to get over the line either. It's about the time of the year the "premiership hangover" kicks in. Don't be surprised if Geelong lose a few too. After you've climbed the mountain it's hard to keep that real intense passion going.

Meh even before last night, did anyone honestly seriously expect we would come close to Geelong ?

Just focus on today's game, I have no idea why so many fans are confident we will win today, esp as we haven't beaten Freak-Mantle in 8 years, and they have a killer ruckman in Sandilands, and Pav always carves our backline up like an xmas turkey.

Interesting fact that could happen again.

1995, Carlton drop 2 games mid season, both were big wins for Swans and StKilda...the only two games lost for that year.

Maybe (ones hoping) that sort of thing could repeat...

Was thinking the same thing last night:thumbsu:

Instead of us losing by 100 pts, we'll lose by 180 pts.

next week we are going to have a bloody hard time unless the boys really turn it on and hopefully draw on the confidence on a win over freo. geelong will be hungry and out there to prove their worth (which is A LOT).

they'll also have ottens back! this could get ugly very easily!

:(

Yeah true, but the pies just beat them and were too good in general.

Not just next week but the next few weeks as Coll vs Carl very soon,
and the Pies are going to romp.:D

Brisbane did it for 4 years.

Geelong won't and cant :D It's over.

Geelong will be back to its real selves (inconsistent).

Geelong were hopeless last night, and they have a few players out there that are clearly injured. Steve Johnson, Cameron Ling and Josh Hunt were all going at about 70% last night, and they had no structure at all.

if we can come out and play 4 quarters of footy, we certainly won't get smashed like I thought we might 4 weeks ago.
