Before the Adelaide game, the statistic was revealed that Gehrig had actually conceded only 9 goals all season. For someone that has played full back or centre half back all season, that is a fantastic effort.

Because of the poor form of the rest of the team, I doubt he will even be considered for the All-Australian side. I'm not sure what it is about him that makes him so susceptible to criticism. He does have poor body language and has the look of someone that is not interested however he has been a huge asset to us. I'm too scared to even contemplate how much worse our season could have been without him.

There is no disputing that we have had a disasterous season and need to make wholesale changes. I just don't understand why the players that always seem to cop it are Everitt and Gehrig. Spider has been excellent all year. He had one shocker against Adelaide and all of a sudden everyone is calling for him to be sacked. They are quite possibly numbers 1 & 2 in our best and fairest at the current time.

Of course if you do need to criticise any players, there are a hell of a lot that do deserve it. I think a lot of our supporters could point out some chronic underachievers in our side very easily.

When he was at West Coast, selecting him wasn't scraping the bottom of the barrel. It wasn't the bottom of the barrel either. It was below the bottom of the barrel. In fact I hope I'm not insulting barrel afficionados with this comparison...

Good player. Would like to coach him. Better backman than he was forward. Always unfairly criticised by supporters who mistake his laconic style and strange posture for a lack of heart.
