If in 2016 you would ask if we could come close to beating anyone with Hodge, Mitchell, Lewis, Rioli, Birchall, Stratton, Breust, Frawley and Gibson all missing from the side, you'd say GAGF. This is growing pains, and our next generation is being given a chance that they wouldn't have been given yet had the above mention players been there. I'm looking forward to 2018.
There is a different kind of pleasure in watching a coach piece together a squad with the tools he has at his disposal and hone it in on the goal of finishing top 4 with the end game of winning the flag. Especially when you take into account all the left ways you can bring talent into the team (father son, international rookies, zone players, rookie draft). It's a real chess game and a talented list management team can make it happen without having direct access to the top end of the draft. In some cases it can almost be more enjoyable to watch that process than the stress of being at the top pf the pile and expected to win. I reckon that you could mount a reasonable argument that 2007 was just as enjoyable (or perhaps even more) than 2015. This rebuild is going to be enjoyable to watch unfold.

2007 comes just behind 2008 for me as the most fun I've had watching football. 2013 was probably the worst, the weight of expectation was too much.

Surely Ross gets the arse at some point! Surely!?

Did the same with St Kildas list and now Fremantle. They are going absolutely nowhere very quickly because their ridiculously stubborn coach will not change anything nor recruit anyone to improve the squad

But Ross is the best coach in the competition. All the "experts" go to great lengths to tell you that.

Port obviously bought into their own press after last week

The thing the media has failed to make a point of this season is how very different this Hawks team is from previous seasons and how many injuries we have, but instead insist on making like it's a big deal if a team beats us and this in turn lulls them into a false sense of security
