On a side note - last week hodge, this week Duncan. We need to run a pole to see how long it takes before someone knocks Papley out
Yes, I was thinking the same thing. To the outsider looking in, Papley appears to be an arrogant little twirp who would really piss you off, pretty much in the Ballantyne mould. We should be asking ourselves what he is doing to make people want to smack him.

If the mrp are consistent then both Duncan and porkins will get a week, regardless of the "not enough contact" spin from Ling
Won't Duncan just be given a fine though? Hodge succumbed due to it being his 3rd offence for the season.

Im trying not to be the saltiest hawks fan alive, But

Honestly, Selwood is way over-rated, 20 disposals, 6 free kicks for him, so 14 disposals, so realisticly without the love-fest hes won 8 contested disposals, with a disposal efficiency of 65%

Against Adelaide, 26 disposals, 6 free kicks awarded to him, Meaning he's won just 7 contested disposals,

He's dropping off fast, I know he';s able to slow down due to Dangerfield in the mix, But he's not pulling his weight, I think he's been a good captain, but will be glad for the games sake when he's out.

He's a lot better however then Scott Selwood who im convinced must have some pretty dirty Intel on the coach

W/ Our finals chances, We're toast, Dropped too many easy games, Even when we started to gel, It's been losses against Geelong and gold coast which have cost us.

Essendon would have to drop a game to Carlton AND gold coast for us to be a chance
WCE would have to drop a game to carlton, and then lose both to GWS and Adelaide
DOgs would have to drop a game against Brisbane
St Kilda would have to drop a game against the Roo's

Some weird results would have to come our way, and we still have Richmond (It's their bloody final) and the dogs
Just on this, if you watch how he plays now and compare it to how he played 3-4 years ago, he's approach is pretty much to get the ball and draw a free kick. It's not get the ball out to a teammate, or clear the ball to his team's advantage; it's get the ball, go into the opposition player, drop the knees/dip the shoulder/fall forward.
Contradictory to his free kick for stat, which looks like it's going up; the umpires are not calling them as much, however all he's pretty much doing is trying to get frees so when you're doing it 40x a game, getting 6 frees for is a small conversion rate.

Well all know he's been a player who has ducked to draw unworthy frees, but that was never his first intention. His first intention was the clear the ball (or similar) and if caught, try and draw a free.

To me, this suggests exactly what you're saying. He's declining... and fast. His hands and agility are fast slowing down. (yes, that's an oxymoron)

The tackle from Buddy which saw him injure his ankle the second time was one umpires would have paid a free for every time. Buddy's initial grab was high but then slipped down. Maybe even the umpires are getting sick of giving Selwood free kicks. If so, it's about time.

You can bet it would have been a free in Bud's old colours.

Melbourne' s defence has been utterly horrific today so far. 15 scoring shots from 21 entries is not acceptable and if goodwin was serious about winning this game he would need to start changing the way they set up behind the ball.

I feel bad. Viney tries. Gawn gives 100 percent effort. Petracca is trying even if hes having a shocker A lot of weak team mates

Please if anyone ever Tells me Jack Watts was worth pick 1 im going to vommit. hes been led to the ball by his opponent all game. No natter if itd a looss ball to win or a melbourne player trying to get Watts to lead to the ball.

Blues tanking again?
Im big fan of what the blues are doing. They still have a shocking mix of ages in their list (Malthouse basically burnt the place down). However they are extremely well coached. Apart from last week they hardly get smashed. They just lack any real solid 24-28 year old guns apart from wright/docerty/Gibbs/Kruezer. Rest of their midfielders are teenagers

They also over past few years havent been able to cut certain people off the list due to being at the salary cap max.

Eddie cheering hard for Carlton here. And i'm with him!

Jobe Watson should announce retirement this week and Essendon should not play him again if they are serious about making finals. He is cooked. I look forward to Robbo's testimonial being all about his stripped Brownlow and being the leader of a team banned in disgrace.
