It's not an argument about forum moderation. It's a discussion about allowing room for disagreement over a contentious issue. This issue is personally important to you. I understand that well. That personal importance, as strong as it is, does not invalidate debate and disagreement.
The fact that this issue has absolutely nothing to do with football, is highly emotional and prone to inflammatory escalation is exactly why the AFL should not engage with it. People are either hurt or written out of the conversation or both. And that, too, is wrong.
I'm happy to check out of Big Footy over this. I know you will miss me far less than I will miss you. I imagine many of you will say, "Good riddance." Interestingly, I haven't even staked out a position on this. I've merely pointed out the disturbing nature of this debate and it's attempt to silence and ostracise.
Anyway, I'll take feedback as regards to my longevity here.
