Gotta feel for Eddie Betts.

20mins of junktime in this fourth quarter.

Cometh the junktime, cometh the junktime specialist.

Junktime Betts would have kicked 4 in this last quarter
Your continual obsession/hatred for Betts is embarrassing.

Great player and great role model.

My thoughts... the umpires were rustier than the players in the first, the two 50m were terrible giveme's to Richmond. My real thoughts the umpires are allowed to be rusty like players this early in a season especially in the first quarter without fan's helping them to umpire.
Second quarter Carlton were by far the better team, Richmond on the other hand got it done when needed and that's why they are premiers.
3rd and 4th was a little bit unexpected given Carlton's injuries but then again perhaps Richmond don't care.

Small thoughts on players Shane Edwards once again almost ended the game in the first quarter a very underated player these days. Stack was good also.
Cripps is probably the most overrated player in the league has no impact on a game except possessions that do nothing more than dribble kicks to the opposition generally, yet also has zero defensive ability while in the midfield so is a witches hat at best. Yes he has ability but move him to CHF. Kruezner was perhaps best on ground b4 he got injured dominated the centre square. Whoever played on Dusty for Carlton did a good job.

F##k me
You lot are a whinging bunch

Footy is on. :)

It was never going to be that good of a game with the reigning premiers taking on 1 of the worst performing teams this century:straining:

Yeah, there is no crowd, you knew that before you turned the f##king tv on

Seriously, isolate yourself from big footy

A little bit of venting is fine.

Wondering about the impact of no crowd is fine

I've not seen anything worse than last year's comments during Oppo games unless I missed something.

I agree a bit if positivity would be nice I just don't think a random footy match will be the source.

Yeah it was written with a smile, & a couple of silly emoticons to hopefully let others know I’m just taking the piss

I have never watched this hyped up opening game of the season between 2 of the 17 teams I dislike, but I cracked a can or 2 & watched a little with 1 of my boys cause I was happy to see footy being played.

I knew it’d be a fairly ordinary game, I knew there’d be no crowd but I enjoyed hearing the players actually yelling etc
Sounded more like a country footy game

Man I'm getting old I don't read emojis

Without the crowd, the game was soulless and emotionless to me.
I couldn't watch it.

It will be interesting to watch our team on Sunday and see what that feels like.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks Cripps is massively overhyped.

I know I’m older than you & I never used to read emoji’s either but the world is changing & we must change with it
or you’ll get left behind:p

Didn't take muckraking s**t-dribbler Damien Barrett long to criticize Hawthorn in his very first IF/THEN article of the year. Obviously I'm biased, but struggle to find a club he writes negative comments about more often than ours.

The absolute polar opposite of the Sydney Swans. You will NEVER under any circumstances catch him writing anything uncomplimentary about the AFL Lovechild. Ever. This parasite knows who butters his bread and despite his desperate efforts to appear independent from AFL HQ he always tows the party line on things that really matter to them and regularly paves the way for their upcoming announcements by writing articles which preempt them, softening up the public to forthcoming changes to temper any negative backlash. In return they give him access to Gill, Hocking & co. and other perks we can only guess at.

Barrett is the kind of reptile who if thrust into police state would turn informer on his friends at a moment's notice, betray every ideal he ever pretended to have and salute any flag if it allowed him to play sycophant to those in power.

I reckon it's because it was a training session in the first that created the "atmosphere". Watched an AFLW game last weekend and the two teams were well matched and it was a good spectacle.

WTF was that s**t from Barrett?!?!?!? Actually the answer is in the question.....

Interestingly I never see Gil having coffee with Barrett but he does have coffee with some other people whose opinions count.....
