Saints have Hill and Hanners on big coin, I doubt they'd be offering too much for Brad Crouch.

Those two are likely heavily frontloaded as well.

Who else on their list would be commanding big $$s a this stage?

billings, steele, gresham?, geary, Zjones, ross, carlisle if he's on the same deal as when he first came over,

thats probably about it, so you'd have to think they have a decent amount of room to work with but not kangaroo type room

Is anyone else starting to warm to GWS now they've told the cats they can either hand over Parfitt and 2 x 1sts or Parfitt, Esava and a first?
Amatuer hour , they need to have a chat to Dodo about asking for proper compo and trading options. That's kinder garden stuff .

King will be in a couple of years
Clark and Coffield etc will likely need decent pay rises in the near future.

100% agree with these, but right now nobody else on the list will be on big money.

They probably also need to start saving and front-loading others so they can throw big money at Ben King and try and get him down in a few years.

With the Hartigan news, does that give the AFL enough ammo now to say "Well B.Crouch alone was Band 2, but with Hartigan added on they JUST creep into Band 1 overall"?

No FA compensation doesn't bump up. Hartigan will receive seperate compensation to Crouch.

That being said it's starting to look more likely than not that they'll get Pick 2. Saints have offered a slight above average player big money and a five year deal.

From the AFL website

To put that figure in perspective, a wage that ranks in the top five per cent of players aged 25-plus would put the free agent among the game's top 15 earners.

At that wage figure, hard to see Crouch being in the top 15 earners. Or Williams for that matter.

Its fairly clear Covid has screwed GWS they can't hold onto players without the financial clout of the AFL.
There is a news article talking about the side effects of cog's multi million dollar deal. When it was mentioned on this site that the AFL intervened to stop Cogs coming to Hawthorn we were laughed at, but now the aftermath of that deal and what has followed allows you to draw your own conclusions.

The money they spent on Cogs is probably the amount they should have given Cameron. They've just backed the wrong horse.

They weren't worried about the money. They had the AFL. The gravy train has run aground due to Covid there is no money. Its as simple as that

Hartigan isn't an RFA, there is no compo for him
