Crows found out playing a side inside the top 8.

Geelong's defense stopped any over-the-back goals and Jenkins and Betts were virtually insignificant excluding a few brief moments. Best forward line in the league is not even averaging 2 goals per quarter tonight.

Crows' depth will now be tested too with Talia out for probably 4-6 weeks.

And now Tex is limping...
Talia had the ice right up to just below his butt cheek post game. Bad sign for him..

Anyone know what dale Morris's injury was? Not a good day for the dogs. Suckling kicked at 42%, I still think that his good kicks are the best in the game perhaps ever, but far too many God awful shanks that are as bad as any. Even guys known to be poor kicks don't shank it that bad.

We know only too well that when suckling plays a bad game it can be a real stinker. Brilliant kick but when has the yips he's shocking.

Seems we have had plenty of luck with results from other games and our own. We are now a game clear on top and still to play. Had we not been so fortunate in the close games we may not be in the 8.

Also reminds me that the games we lost last year were all close and had we won we would have been clearly on top.

I have said it once and I will say it again about Adelaide.....
You stop the cheap one over the back and you stop Adelaide.
Geelong held their structure down back and Adelaide not very few answers
Downhill skier Eddie had minimal influence....nothing over the back Eddie

Pretty much

Geelong 2008
Port 2014
Western Bulldogs 2015

The 3 who could get it over the back with ease
None won the premiership in their year

Win tomorrow and we'll be flying. We will have plenty of breathing room while every other team in the 8 will not only be desperate to win each week but they'll be desperate to win big too so as to ensure percentage keeps them above all tge other sides on the same points. These teams won't have the luxury of resting players when they need to win well every week.

Not sure anyone is going to be resting players with the bye before finals.

It's not about resting players to keep them fresh, it's about managing players with niggles so that they don't turn from niggles into full blown injuries.

If Hodge, Mitchell, Gibson, Burgoyne, Lewis, Rioli, Gunston or Frawley had a niggling calf or hamstring complaint then we'd want to be able to play it safe and give them a week off to get it right. If we're sitting 6th (where we would currently be if we had lost one more game) then we may not feel like we could risk not playing them as it would be imperative to win this week to simply stay in touch with the pack. But if course the risk then is that they play and do the injury. Which in turn hurts your chances for weeks to come and makes it far less likely you'll be able to take the risk of resting other players in later weeks. Snowballing the effect.

All the teams in the 8 are in this precarious position now. If we win tomorrow then we really set ourselves apart. If we go on to win the flag from 1st place with a fit list then I will consider it having effectively been won in July from a strategic point of view due to this advantage we've given ourselves.
