I thought Kennedy was BOG but yes, Boyd for the Dogs. JJ had a ton of it, and was influential...but his kicking was terrible for the most part.
Unfortunately for Kennedy, he couldn't have as much influence on the second half. JJ was excellent providing run pff half back (hawks could use a bit of that) but as you said, turned it over a lot. The combibation of marks Boyd took at half forward, goals and good ruck work was massive IMO.

I don't think so. Because of the unusual length of the contract the AFL insisted that the full 10 million be included in the Swans salary cap and that all Swans directors signed off to this. I guess they were sh..ting bricks last September when Buddy was having his issues, and very glad he has come right. No doubt last year the AFL legal team was trying to come up some contingency plans if Buddy could no longer play.

Now the Swans seem well established and the other love child, the Giants, seemed destined for sustained on field success, the AFL has laid the foundations for growing Aussie Rules in NSW, particularly with their academies poaching other code talent. I think that the AFL will be prepared let the Swans suffer the consequences of their hubris.
I hope you're right.

funny to think about how excited Swans posters were about us losing to the Doggies.

Be careful what you wish for...
I think a few of them suggested Clarko was being a sore loser talking about the problem of unrewarded tackling

I thought Kennedy was still influential in the second half. He was responsible for majority of their clearances, whether it was a direct possession or just a deflection/physical pressure effort. The rest of their midfield and forward line just didn't function very well.
I thought the Dogs had far more opportunities through the game but continued to torch the ball going inside their forward 50. I may have been biased in my assessment though.. I was pretty keen on a Doggies win.

Agreed, i won't be watching the hat-trick as often as I have 2008, the games were so clinical that by the end it was just a matter of sitting back and enjoying the show. Wouldn't exchange the three for 2 close ones, but it would have been great to win one from the edge of our seats to look back on.
Thats what prelims are for.
Grand finals should be won by Hawthorn by record margins.

Pretty good assessment. Kennedy was the best four quarter player on the ground.

Just watching the replay. Didnt hear it today where I was but when the dogs missed a set shot in the 3rd Bruce managed to work 'isaac smith knows all about that' into the call lol. If only we could kick as straight as every prick who loves the fact we weren't there. They never miss a shot.

Brooce is just as #headfcuked as everybody else. If only he were retiring, along with Dennis.

Sooooooooooo, now that the Swans got done, our club needs to gets some answers from HQ on what actually constitutes a disposal nowadays. I am pretty sure I saw some throws between the legs like they do with the quarterback in the NFL. WTF. Some of non decisions were jaw dropping.

In the end it was a throwathon with the doggies better equipped to keep running at the end.
Buckley said pre-game that the number 1 thing he wants fixed is holding the ball. "If you have possession, you either kick or handball. Or it's a free kick to the tackler". Said that is what he spoke to Gill about in meetings.

Holding the ball and correct disposal have become interpretations of the umpiring team of the day. Makes it very difficult to coach for and against. Moving toward rugby when rules are not understood by the paying audience. Dogs, whilst I wanted them to win, got a fair run regarding dropping the ball....again.

I don't think there was a legitimate handball from Liberatore, Hunter or maybe Dalhaus for the day. Umpires have clearly been directed to minimise stoppages at any cost hence constant throwing

Has Bob Murphy finished his victory lap yet?
Fair dinkum I don't give a rats, that should have been kept in house.
Even the Beveridge moment, just ridiculous.
Every grand final has a sour story why is this one any different?
As proven in his absence, HBF are like midfielders, a dime a dozen.

I hope, in privacy, Murphy gives back the medal to Beverage

Beverage deserves that medal more than anyone else!

Correct, constant movement, reduce stoppages.
Libba at last count had a least 5 throws, some were just shoveled from the bottom of the pack out of congestion, ball out, into space, play on.
In the end the swans ran out of legs but the above helps a lot.

We want to be envied: Bevo's plans for a Bulldog dynasty

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-10-01/we-want-to-be-envied-says-proud-beveridge

"There's no doubt everyone envies what Hawthorn has achieved.

"Everyone envies Sydney's sustained success, and their recent flags.

"Everyone envies the Cats and their recent record.

"We've nailed one in a long period of time, and to be envied, you need that sustained success.[\quote]
Sustained success? 2 Premierships, 3 defeats in 11 years. Yeah they're pumping out cups lol. And let's not forget this team was built on COLA. How many have they won since it's removal?

Don't forget, some clubs see consistently making Finals as sustained success
2 Premierships in 11 years is a dynasty at a lot of other clubs
