That is what is the worst. Gibbo plays on someone and still gets across to cover other opponents. Wins his own ball and is very creative with ball in hand. Leads the league in spoils year in year out. Yet no love...
I reckon a club B&F would mean more to him than AA selection.

One you're being told you're the best player by your own coaches who know your role intimately.
The other you're being told you're one of the best in the league for your position by a panel of "experts" who don't know your role in your team and are swayed by popular opinion far too easily.

I have no doubt he would but as a supporter you like to see people outside the club recognise how good your players are. Maxwell has never had a season like Gibbo's last few and yet one got gifted an AA on the back of an outstanding season by his club (not unlike some of the Geelong players who got free AAs) and Gibbo plays in the best team across the past three years and can't beat out guys like Mackie.

Bad enough hearing that Lenny Hayes and Nick Maxwell are retiring, even worse news was that Brent Harvey has signed another one year contract, looks like he'll be joining Tucky in the 400 club  Wish he was the one announcing his retirement.
