I saw on the main board someone suggested that if Freo have Top 2 sewn up by the time the last round comes about, they could do what they did against the Saints last year (i.e gifting Port a win). If this happened and it was the difference between us making Top 4 and not making Top 4 I would be very PO'd

They're not that stupid to do it again.

It was 2012 too, from memory.

So much for that "teams should always do their best to play their best team available to win games" from the AFL back when Melbourne was fined for tanking (or "not" tanking as it were). Resting three or four for soreness is a bit different in this case compared to omitting the entire best 22.

But anyway, let's just not get into that position.

Did anyone see Malthouse's after game interview? He was clearly humiliated at the public dressing down from the CEO. He is a proud man and just could not deal with it - would not be surprised if they find a way for him to stand down at the end of the season.

He was like someone with DID
Waivered between petulant, contrite, polite, terse, curt and then finally pissed off
I have to admit though that some questions that are asked are just plain stupid and often leaves me thinking 'wtf"

Oh, great! Now we'll have to put up with the coaches' box dramatics of the TWO Snot sisters, instead of the one ...
You could always watch it with a bottle of your favourite spirit and have a shot everytime one of them bitches or whinges. That'll make for an interesting nite given you'll be wasted well before the first bounce.

The fake outrage by the media in regards to Malthouse is hilarious, but also worrying as it shows how having an agenda can genuinely influence the public even in a trivial issue such as this.

I like Mick, and I like that he treats the media and their ridiculous questions like shite, not because I like people being rude to others, but because it's him being himself.
Cliche answers and a fake smile are horrid and it makes me want to buy into the irrational side of my brain and go along with the 'whole thing is concocted and corrupt'.

They have every right to ask what they want, but they can't then complain when they get an answer.

Robbo is a massive sook. Or stupid. I can't work it out. Probably both. He's a football journalist, and he was almost in tears mid-week when saying 'MICK CAN'T DO THAT TO LINGY!'

I think North plays the big teams on some kind of hallucinatory drug.

Then they play the crap teams, forget to take the drugs, and think "Hey, we are actually North Melbourne", then they sh*t themselves and get smashed.

Seriously, Henderson???

Also seriously Petrie???6 goals???
Now that's a bigger embarrassment.
And add to that Harvey??? Wtf!!!!
They looked old and slow last night yet last week both were in career best form !!!

If that happened, and there was proof, the AFL should ban them from the finals. It's match fixing.

They did it last year and they are not the only club that "rests" players
Aaron sandilands apparently has a sore back and isn't playing but was seen out running with his dog
Mountains are being made out of molehills - not dropping a game against a team that was beaten by both Brisbane and Carlton is more of a reason to be annoyed than a club resting players - we do exactly the same thing. I also think it will be the road trip to Brisbane that they use to rest players not the one against port

Lets be honest...

If Fremantle are to rest players it'd likely be against Brisbane at the GABBA anyway. Why take a full squad across to Queensland in a game they will win anyway but then tank a game at home against an opponent they would be odds on to play in the finals anyway? By that stage they could have a top 2 spot sewn up by which case they wouldn't want to go into their first final, at home, undercooked

Port are a game and percentage behind us. It's really a two game gap - assuming we do the business on the Dogs and Dees. If for what ever reason they roll Fremantle, and assuming the Syds go to Adelaide and defeat them anyway, we'd have to lose all 3 of our games against Sydney, Fremantle and Geelong for it to be a concern.

This underlines why the Port collapse has been absolutely golden for our top 4 chances

To be honest with you if we can't beat at least one of these sides in the run home we really don't deserve top 4

The beauty about our draw is that our fate is entirely in our hands. Win all our games and well snare the minor premiership for the third successive yeer
