What is it about the cats and milking free kicks. They are masters at it.

For a supposed hard team, they sure do go to ground very easily. Makes you wonder whether they actually have staging sessions behind closed doors.

Can't believe I felt sorry for the pies with so many decisions tonight. Putrid.

Does anyone think the Cats style just won't hold up in finals? I mean all that million-miles-an-hour, blindly handballing thru the middle is gonna come unstuck under serious pressure and hard tackling.

If the Pies were fit (& good) enough to keep up their pressure for more of the game (read: 3rd quarter), they woulda won it easily I reckon...

Thoughts?
They'll be there.

Chapman, Kelly and a few others that do well with the contested footy will be playing when it matters.

Dunno 3 flags out of the last 6 would suggest it works fine in finals.

I think its the first time this year having so many inexperienced players in the team caught up with them.

May I just say that, in my several times checking out what goes on at the Geelong board, they always have something about Hawthorn there. A thread or two just laughing or insulting our club.

Quite weird, aren't we the ones who should be doing this as we continually lose to them? I don't know but I think they waste to much time thinking about us instead of.. Collingwood it seems.
It's comforting to know that no matter how many flags they win, they will never get over not winning in 2008. It's the flag that just keeps on giving for me. If you want to upset a Geelong flog, all you have to do is say, "2008". It drives them nutz :)

In finals when the pressure is really on is when it might catch them out as well.
50 games isn't enough experience when it comes to finals.

Just got back from the Pies v Cats game. Should have seen the flog behaviour from some Cats fans. Didn't hear from them all game and when they hit the lead in the third, they were abusing and goading all Collingwood supporters in the immediate area. Well didn't it end well for them. Best part is they were in the Centrebet box and I was told by an attendee in there that the biggest flog of the lot had $100k on Geelong. Suck shit.

I can't talk for others, but the 2012 disappointment was less than a year ago. Our win over Geelong was 5 years ago, you'd think they'd be able to handle it better seeing as they stole the 2009 GF from St.Kilda with questionable umpiring decisions, and in 2011 Collingwood and Hawthorn beat the crap out of each other the week before. These guys are not invincible, far from it. As a matter of fact I don't think they'll even make the GF.

For the record, whereas I was disappointed to lose the 2012 GF, I have no axe to grind with Sydney because they beat us. My only problem with Sydney is how they are given advantages over other clubs in the salary cap. I can't see myself carrying on like an idiot in 5 years' time about Sydney ... unless the AFL continue to favour them in this fashion.

And Carlton's loss has most definitely been the Hawks gain.. Very happy to have Ratts in our corner.:thumbsu:

Collingwood tore the cats high handball game style apart in 2010. The cats seemed to kick it a lot more in 2011. Interesting they have gone back to handball. It won't work.

Yeh it would be awesome. Their supporters are so arrogant for a club that's done nothing in three decades
One of the mysteries of the attitude of the media towards the Carltons, Essendons and Richmonds. Still considered to be part of the fictitious "Big 4" and only need to exhibit slight improvement on previous ordinary seasons to be considered premiership chances.
