I can't talk for others, but the 2012 disappointment was less than a year ago. Our win over Geelong was 5 years ago, you'd think they'd be able to handle it better seeing as they stole the 2009 GF from St.Kilda with questionable umpiring decisions, and in 2011 Collingwood and Hawthorn beat the crap out of each other the week before. These guys are not invincible, far from it. As a matter of fact I don't think they'll even make the GF.

For the record, whereas I was disappointed to lose the 2012 GF, I have no axe to grind with Sydney because they beat us. My only problem with Sydney is how they are given advantages over other clubs in the salary cap. I can't see myself carrying on like an idiot in 5 years' time about Sydney ... unless the AFL continue to favour them in this fashion.
If Sydney were not given the BS concessions I would just move on.

They couldn't give a shit whether you move on or not and if people truly believe Sydney won because of cola or any other concession then that's just pitiful. Wonder what the cats blame their loss on......

Poor kicking on goal maybe......

This weekends rounds could not have gone any better. Cats lose, Dons lose and Sydney and Freo each take point off each other. We could be well clear, with the Cats, at the top of the ladder when the bye comes around and our hardest run of the season is over.

Amazing, innit? On top of the ladder after being dealt the worst draw (apart from the giants game.)

Very proud of the effort, hope we keep it up. I think wee played top level footy for two of those matches - Sydney and Collingwood, but looked very rusty and fumbly in others. Just like Geelong, Sydney and Collingwood there is lots of room for improvement.

Box Hill Hawks.
That's just it though - it would need to be one hell of a golden handshake because it's going to be very difficult to get a new gig somewhere with that on your resume
My feeling is that they are trying desperately to protect their chosen one, and there would be many high profile businessmen on Essendon's board who would be willing to accommodate Robson.

If he has taken the hit for Hird they have probably worked out a deal. Just my thinking.

Reckon this bloke would be worth a rookie spot on our list. Although he'd be 27 next year, he could bridge the gap between Sewell/Mitchell retiring and Woodward/Hallahan coming on. Ayres rates him higher than Dwyer, who is having a positive impact at the Pies. 182cm tall. Cain racked up 25 possessions and kicked 2 goals in a half against the Bombers VFL side. Kicked 6 goals against Sandringham. Kicked 1 goal 3 against Box Hill with 33 possessions. Not bad for a bloke who plays footy part-time.

I reckon the only way you can possibly mitigate that threat is through the compulsory use of helmets, as much as I'm no great fan.

Mind you, I'm still not happy about the need for them for bicycles.

And whilst we are at it - what was the need for unleaded petrol? Nothing wrong with Super. Grrrrr.

Taita, apologies if I missed the sarcasm.

While we have free health cover and a "no fault" TAC insurance system it is reasonable for people to be required to protect their head should they fall of their bicycle. The long term costs of recovery are immense and sometimes support is necessary for the rest of the brain injured persons life.

Super petrol contained lead. When burnt in an internal combustion engine the lead was discharged into the air where it could be breathed by all and sundry. Lead is known to hamper brain development in children, lowering IQ, not to mention it is a poison for adults too.

It really was a no brainer, pardon the pun, to remove lead from fuel.

Richmond. I want to see Essendon capitulate. 3 consecutive losses is a good start. Richmond are padding for the 8 at best (as are Essendon).
Yep, agree with this.

I want to see the wheels completely fall off. I want the year to be a write off by the end of June. I have a special hate reserved for Essendon.

I'd also take a bit of pleasure in seeing Sydney lose to Collingwood tonight. That would warm my cockles.

Yep, want the wheels to fall off the Essondrug wagon. As soon as they begin loosing all the Hird support from the members will begin to disintegrate. It's one of the few things keeping him his job right now.
