Pretty much. Very rare, I would think, that just about every non Swans supporter will be going for the other team in the Grand Final. They are a good side, no doubt, but after pilfering, sleazing and being granted with the means to do that rape and pillage, no one has any love for them. Contrast that with when they played West Coast and people had a bit of a soft spot for them. Not now. Universally hated.
Last year I think Freo were the neutrals team. Lets hope we get there after tomorrow and see the hatred pour out for the swans. I love that their concessions get more and more public, maybe pressure builds and something changes.

Well geelong fans will be cheering the colas and I still think being a real club, opposed to an AFL sponsored franchise more people would prefer us to lose.

Don't mind the result tonight. Didn't think either team looked particularly great tonight. Sydney obviously have a bit more polish given the talent on their list but still made quite a few errors given the game wasn't really played at a finals like intensity. North opened up Sydney plenty of times when they played long, direct and quick but a lack of top level skills meant that just one mistake in the chain was usually punished with a score at the other end. But with 41 scoring shots and not even kicking over 150 points... Given they'll likely have closer to 25 scoring shots in a GF against Hawks or Port and be put under a lot more pressure than tonight it would have to be a concern. At least for their sake Buddy and Tippett kicked straight.

I don't really know what to make of Sydney at the moment though. On one hand they lost to Richmond in the last round, beat Freo who were cooked and went out in straight sets, had the week off and then beat a North Melbourne side who seemed to have run out of steam. But perhaps they've just done what was needed and are ready to shift up a gear in the big dance? I wonder if a lack of a high intensity final will leave them sluggish to whoever they end up meeting? From a Hawks perspective we've twice beaten convincingly a side that has troubled us in big games for 5-6 years and will need to get past a young Port with plenty of pace and belief. It's yet to be seen but I get the feeling our final will feature a higher intensity than tonight's game. Whether that will help us next week (in the event of a win) we'll just have to wait and see. There doesn't seem to be a hell of a lot between the sides and could just come down to who has the better day.

I laughed at Bruce's little musing about how "it would take a special performance tomorrow for the Swans not to enter the Grannie as favourites".

What does it mean? Who cares in any case?
Yep - North are an AMAZING team. Sydney must be rool good to thrash them.

I'm just pissed we got the harder prelim. Maybe number one spot verses two may play a part. Stuff it. No excuses

Last year we came off a very hard PF against Geelong. Doesn't get much closer than than that. And we carved up the all hyped up Freo. Time will tell but certainly not outside our limits.

And just to finish.....god I hate $ydney!

Cats supporters probably still drink the COLA goo though if we beat port.

I was on my way home from the Roosters game and had to wait in a taxi line with Swans fans. This drunk bogan lady near me wouldn't shut up and kept singing 'I'm going to Melbourne'. The longest wait for a cab ever. I hate the Swans so much I can't describe it.
She'd be lucky to know how to spell "Melbourne", let alone where it is on a map!

Thinking of channel surfing. Any ideas .

George Gently is quality
My favourite, I watched him..Had enough ruddy football tonight. Didn't even watch the last half. The only thing I want to hear is Whinger Scott..the best part of tonight. "We are very confident, we have beaten all the top teams, blah,blah,blah.."

That will probably be the best bit for the night, you cocky, arrogant prick Scott. Do you still feel so confident?

I wonder who the Billionaire Millionaires are? mmm.. We just might meet these wealthy players next week.. I absolutely detest Goodes,McVeigh, Bomber Thompson, Turd, Carey, Whinger Scott Bros, grrr, and add the majority of commentators to my list! I never listen to C7, just can't tolerate them, Glad I have a MUTE button. Very happy those two Whinger brothers lost their games. Cocky,arrogant,confident,dickheads..Oh, did I tell you I don't like them. ? :p and a few others..

I didn't see the game at all. I took my mother to the ballet. No sign of the Swine and we had Ian Dicker in our row. A very nice evening was had by all.

HAHA I was just watching that.

Had to turn over for half time, couldnt handle the Swans wankfest

I never watched the last half either. Couldn't tolerate that crap FINALS??? game.
What a shocker of a game for those who want to see a close game. Nothing exciting to see last night. The only good thing about the game is Whinger Scott losing, no, getting flogged by a better team .Those Whinger brothers deserve everything they get!

Unfortunately due to this morning's Herald Sun exclusive, Stevie J has armed Port Adelaide with everything it needs to dismantle us.

"HOW TO BEAT HAWTHORN", far out. I know he doesn't like us much but it's not fair giving away all that inside info to dodgy clubs like Port and Sydney.

I was pretty horrified reading it all laid out in black and white in the cafe.

Hodge won't hesitate to hurt you. Roughead gives dirty knees in the back.
All Hawthorn's players are good.
Burgoyne's weak positions are better than other players anyway.
Breust is really good and will cut you up.
Hawthorn plays really well and everyone understands the game plan.
They understand risk and reward of different kicking options.
Mitchell and Lewis are really good.

So there you have it. Ken Hinkley will be jizzing in his cornflakes this morning with all that set out for the world to see.

Going to buy a copy on way home to read again.

More stunning insight from the little paper.

Post footy, a career as a intelligence analyst awaits Stevie J.

Despite the little backhanded compliments sprinkled through out this was still a rather (surprisingly) complimentary article.
