Not sure a game of "Which club's fault is it?" is all that important, but for what it's worth:

"By the eighth year (of my career) ... that was when my life started to fall apart," Yarran said in the video produced by the Potters House Christian Fellowship Church.
Played seven (7) seasons for Carlton.

Now can we move on from the blame game? It's kinda unsavoury.

If he wasn't an idiot he'd have gone down in history as one of the all time greats. Yes, I truly believe that he was that good.

Must say Charlie has been getting me a bit up and about lately... He really could be anything. Just hope he doesn't have the injury troubles that Kouta unfortunately started suffering.
Keep him out of the ruck, ffs

Bartlett doing his best to blame Carlton for the Yarran trade to Richmond even tho Balme admits they knew of his issues & thought they could help him.

Didn't really go down the path of pleased he is doing well and good on him, little turd

I'm reading that as Yarran had already been using for several years and by the time he got to Richmond ice had a grip on his life.

Depends on which relationship he was talking about, but if it was the one with Michelle, then things were already afoot at Carlton.

Come on.....we all know they were. That doesn't matter anyway.

Could definitely tell something was up. He went from being a super promising second year player in 2011 to Mr Inconsistent in the seasons after.

Finished 4th in our B&F in 2014 (IMO was close to our best player that season). Lost his way in 2015 after the 'Chapman incident' & as was widely reported, the Tigers had been in his ear during the season & he just played out time for the balance of 2015.

How can Carlton be blamed for Yarran being traded to Richmond? Unbelievable. It was Richmond that got into his ear early in the year, despite him being in the first year of a new contract. Yarran was the one that requested the trade and Richmond then wouldn't offer anything anything decent for him.
I am so sick of our club being made out to be the bad guys.

I always felt like he was a lot better in 2011. Very consistent that year and provided game changing run off half back.

Seasons after that were up and down.

Came to mind about all the hype and stories around the Western Jets quartet of 2014

In that draft Duggan went @ #11, Ellis @ #12, Viojo-Rainbow @ #28 and Menadue @ #33

Fair to say that all have been disappointing to date. Our guy isn't even on the list and a couple of others could well join him.

Hard to believe That Balme knew already, surly the club would of known better after the cousins experience or they were expecting Yarran to be a high functioning drug user who could still play football.

A few different stories going around, and the latest is:-

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-ne...g-issues-says-neil-balme-20170818-gxz082.html

Richmond football-department chief Neil Balme said the Tigers were aware of Chris Yarran's drug issues when the two parties came to an agreement to part ways after the 2016 season.

We did, just lol every time I think about it. It'd be uncontrollable laughter if we'd got pick 12 , still a tad dirty on that because he was well worth it without knowing where his head was fully at.

Now, get fit Yaz and give Carlton a reason to pick u up!!

It all just raises so many more questions,
Why would the tigers trade for someone with a ice addiction? How prevalent is ice in afl players? I just can't get my head around it
Players get tested 2 maybe 3 times a year without being flagged......plenty of time to build an addiction.

Plus he was on the LTI list, which meant he wasn't tested anyway.
