Hopefully not. We've been given a cream pie draw this year, thanks to being a bottom 6 team. Next year our fixture will be much harder.

Not sure when it started, but they started making the position the team finished in a factor to which teams they play the following year, but still squashing in other factors such as making sure flog teams like Essendon get a lot of friday nights. So the teams that finished bottom are meant to play other bottom dwellers more than the top teams.
Doesn't really work though because.
Bottom placed ( last year ) Carlton , are probably better the the Eagles in Victoria.
Fremantle managed to somehow go from number 1 , to an easy beat, making it easy for the teams that play them twice.
Richmond significantly easier to beat than the likes of Geelong , GWS or StKilda

So it all depends which teams you end up playing twice and where you happen to play the interstate clubs.

If you are good enough to win a premiership it probably doesn't matter, or if you are total rubbish it probably doesn't matter either.

Afl started dividing the draw up into 3 i think a couple of years ago. So if the team ended up in the bottom 6 then you got an easier draw then the middle 6 or the top 6. Next year we will be in the middle 6 draw.
