We were never going to. After the Dogs and Melbourne already had them earmarked there was no chance we were getting one of the remaining 2 Vic spots. Big waste of time and money even going for it tbh.
I'm sure we put millions into to it and having to wait 12 months for a womens team is a disaster

The only way we were getting an inaugural team was if we had the foresight of the Doggies and Mebourne and were one of the two initial clubs.

They deserve it.

Carlton have a bigger profile than we do and their brand and identity pull in bigger sponsors and exposure.

Not sure we're gonna see any new teams introduced any time soon, I actually think they've got too many teams, and the talent is going to be spread way too thin for the first 3-5 years. I wish they just ushered it in slowly, created a third team, then a fourth and kept up these round robin exhibitions for a few years until the new found female interest actually starts showing some results in player numbers and talent development.

If that's what cost us a full standalone VFL team then it certainly could be a disaster.
We traded a VFL jumper for Beach Oval because even a renovated Moorabbin will be too small for an AFL club in the future.
Deal of the century second oval, prime location to build corporate function and aquatic facilities in 10-15 years time.
Secures us as the bayside team just as the Hawks are invading our area.

Lmao tigers fans are fed up
Trying to overthrow the board
Good luck to em I say. Club needs a collective kick in the arse. Despite the distain I have for their current personnel/"direction" (is stagnate a direction?), I don't mind the tiges and much rather see them successful than most of the other afl clubs.

Still think they should get Akamanis as playing coach at least for one year! If they're going to be shit, at least entertain us!

Despite what is said, its also a good deal for Sandy as the alternative is oblivion.

I was thinking about this, and even with the jumper: if all we asked Sandy to do was change the blue trim to red, that'd do it. They can keep yellow and black stripes, just with red trim - that blue trim is hardly that big a deal for them surely. Then they have a colour scheme that is also entirely acceptable in St Kilda's history: red, yellow, black.

holy spacecakes what's he done now? Apparently cops caught him outside Jason Holmes's house at 3am this morning wearing an Uncle Sam costume with tears streaming down his face begging him to nominate the doggies chip packets and hairspray cans all around the place.

Just looking at the history of their colours: Each of the three (yellow, black and blue) were taken from three even older defunct clubs that they amalgamated with. So, at the risk of offending those fine members remaining from the Black Rock Football Club (or whoever) from the 1920s, I think we can let the blue go, don't you?

Not being funny or wanting to jinx anything, but I reckon we are in great shape in terms of our list and culture and direction. Top 3 in Victoria behind Cats and Hawks, 7th all up in the league.

Just to clarify, above the Dons Lions Dockers Blues Suns Pies Tigers Power Demons Roos and Dogs, most of whom are currently basketcases or at the least have a significant deficiency in one of the aforementioned areas.

As Rooey said, the next step will be even harder, but I'm loving the overall positivity coming out of Moorabbin these days.
