Funny how none of this emerged while GWS were still playing finals when the AFL have known about it for a while. Imagine if they'd won the GF with Whitfield playing.
Will be very interesting to see how they deal with their love child as ASADA is also involved.
On another note, Collingwood gave Neil Balme the flick in an underhand kind of way so they could bring in Allen and now they stand to possibly lose him for a couple of years.

It wasn't a mistake. He did drugs and then got scared about the outcome. I'm not saying to hang, draw and quarter him, but for heaven's sake how stupid can these players be? Two Collingwood players just finished two year bans. Now Saady, there was a mistake.

They are professional athletes... It can't be all care and no responsibility. And the two officials are equally culpable for enabling this.
There are consequences for decisions we all make in life.

The Whitfield issue is not about taking (or not taking recreational drugs), its about not being available for a performance enhancing drug test which is a mandatory requirement for every athlete.

Athletes have to specify a time and place where they will be available EVERY day if ASADA decided it was going to have a drug test. If they aren't available they are considered to have missed a test and therefore liable for suspension.

Thats why Allan and Lambert are so stupid because if he'd have tested positive to a recreational drug at a ASADA test he would have just got a strike under the AFL code.
