Who should be there with the three big forwards ? I think Weller for sure, Wright is a good defensive forward but unsure if he gives enough attacking side to be there for sure. I guess another midfield like Stevens or Steele might get in . That probably leaves Sinclair, Loanie, Wright and a few others as the final choice . Having the three big forwards does restrict us from playing another ruckman . That means we are in trouble if Hickey goes down early in the game leaving Bruce in the ruck for the rest of the day but Boyd of the Bulldogs showed it can work sometimes. I guess it depends on who you are up against.

Recruiting suggests we will just rotate our mids forward rather then have set forwards.
Billings, Gresham, Acres, Steele, Steven, Armo are all forward/mids.
Newnes averaged a goal a game this year and Dunstan plays to the right spots needs to clean up his kicking.
Ross is the only one who doesn't have a forward game right now.
Wellers leadership puts him in the best 22 more then his raw numbers and he plays up the ground and runs back to the forwardline
Wright is a stop gap while our team physically matures but Steele will likely be ahead of him going forward.
Sinclair and Lonie will live or die by midfield production rather then forward craft and currently I see McKenzie as ahead of them for best 22 spots with his marking, tackling and burst running

Somebody still running Windows '98 down Arden St?

Now they just need the muppet that has been doing our slogans in recent weeks.

"North of the City.. and who knows.. maybe North of the ladder?"
or "Release the handbrake because we're ready to drive to the finals lol"

To be fair, they are significantly better than what we've been going with.

Norf maybe trying to be a bit more inclusive of the Northern suburbs like the Dogs did with WESTERN bulldogs??
Some here might remember us trying the SOUTHERN SAINTS rebrand yrs ago.
It went down like a lead balloon.

The pic isnt all that clear but look at the bottom of the crest on this Greg Burns autograph card.
Instead of the usual latin it just says Southern Saints.

I think if Jack Sinclair can build a tank and hone his tackling ability then he is a shoe in. Just seems to read play well, manoevers well in traffic, has a good turn of acceleration, is a genuine goal sneak, has good hands and can be creative with the handball. Best of all though he is a very tidy kick off both feet. I think if Lonie, Wright, Sinclair and Minchington were all equal in their defensive capacity and their athleticism then Sinclair heads the list.

I hadn't seen it until then but someone described it to me as a kangaroo taking a shit. The top of the shield certainly looks like cistern.

I agree with what you are saying but I'm wondering will these three be given a spot over the extra midfield players they got. Somebody has to miss out. Would Steele be given a half forward spot so he can rotate through the midfield ? Same with Stevens , or are they on the bench or even in the twos ? I don't know much about Steele or Stevens . We also have to fit Gresh somewhere too. Time to have a bigger interchange bench but only for us, lol.

Its just some crap some drunk old men made up. Drawing a picture is not building a roof.

It's right up there with the Very Fast Train . When the government wants some publicity they announce they are looking into it and the media go bananas over the story then you don't hear anymore till the next time someone wants publicity. This roof idea is exactly the same thing . The MCG is just too big for a roof unless it was in the initial plans so certain areas would be strengthened etc. it's a slow days news story which will pop out every three to four years.

Then there was Eddie's vision for the precinct.

Really want to fix the G? Build a decent ( compact or underground ) carpark with decent traffic flow ( direct freeway link?) and work with the railway so its not like hearding sheep onto a truck. ( I haven't travelled on rail THAT much , but i can say first hand that the inner city trains in Perth, Sydney, London, Singapore, and Hong Kong are better than Melbourne's crap - Myki was like a cave man turning up at the Tesla factory with a round rock saying "look guys i've invented a wheel" ).

Didnt realise he was only 28.
Thought about 31. Not the worse addition to a list i guess.

It's one of those moves that GWS would be hailed for as brilliant but because he went to the Suns it's met with a resounding 'Meh...' Kind of like how the Demons bring in Jake Melksham and Michael Hibberd and its "Great list management" but we bring in Carlisle and everyone cries about how we 'Gave up pick 5'.

They have lost a fair bit the Suns but their off season additions have been pretty good and they will have 4 top 10 picks to go with all that. If Ablett and Swallow get fit that is a very good starting trio on ball.

With the GWS now in the frame re drugs, and with two of their senior non-players involved, what is the likelyhood of them losing draft picks?

What are the chances of the afl trying to sweep it under the carpet because it's a Sydney team and we need them to be successful . The afl do everything possible to make it true, look at the drafts picks GWS got to start up with and compare that even with the suns . According to the afl they can't afford either Sydney team to finish outside the eight.
