They need off field help far more than on field, medical dept seems off pace, the amount of injuries these last 3 years alone, facilities are abysmal, start there then see how things progress.

Ps Bolton proves a good coach can win games.

Personally I don't mind people having tickets on themselves if they're actually going places. Good on him, hope he makes a go of it.

IIRC, reading between the lines, around the time of their draft, that was one reason trout chose Paddy instead of Petracca. Could be wrong, but that's what he seemed to be implying.

I don't think they are tanking, but it's not a totally uncommon opinion.

I just think that somewhat like us, they haven't developed depth when they were near the top, and the players are somewhat mentally shot after being so close so many times. Those mental scars are only exacerbated by Ross' intensity.

Be interesting to see whether Ross can rebuild and develop a team from scratch. He doesn't have the runs on the board in that regard.

Freo are Carlton in a fishbowl, they believe they are further along than they are, they believe they are entitled and they believe all it takes is a little bit of energon and a lot of luck and then you get a tree trunk in your side and you die a horrible death. Because unlike Port who have history and something to fall back on as well as semi recent success, Freo have nothing, and like Carlton, they brought in a tried coach to take the next step (Malthouse) and go for it because again, they're good, they're great and we dunno why we're losing.

He had that Carlton side playing/borderline finals when Malthouse took them to the bottom. I thought he was hard done by, ditched because their board thought Malthouse was the messiah. Yeah I thought he did alright.
