Ross Lyon is about to be finally found out and revealed as the fraud he truly is. Not a single new player in today's side. Still trying to win games by scoring 60 points. Still persisting with the Swans 'Bloods' game plan from 2005. No fwds. Still persisting with his favourite old hacks like Ibbotson, Clancee Pearce, Chris Mayne, Mzungu, Danyle Pearce, Griffin. Found out.

imo he'll be a monster. limited rotations might cause more 1 on 1's and that will help his game cos he gon be biiiig in a few yearsBoyd is going to be a huge bust Imo
Is he worth the price tag?People writing off Boyd now, is the equivalent of others writing off McCartin in 12 months time.
Ludicrous.
He may be a spud, he may be a champion. Far, far, far too early to say.

Well that definitely remains to be seen, but the pressure on the kid to perform because of it will definitely not help. I also wonder what his team mates feel about it. Still, it's too soon to write him off.
Paddy also has pressure due to being number one pick, but I'm really glad he doesn't have the weight of that monetary expectation on his shoulders as well.

Boyd will be a colossus in a few years & IMO has the tools to overtake Hogan. Hogan is a man child & was always going to impact earlier on in his career.
Boyd at 200cms + taking marks at the highest point like Roo (but significantly taller) has throughout his career will be an unstoppable force once he grows Ito his body & gains confidence.
He was and outstanding junior and we would have had him if he'd chosen us instead. I'm not yet sold on 2 meter tall forwards yet but he looks like he should be a very good player one day. Even just as a focal point forward he will straighten them up.
Dont think its so much people writing off Boyd. He may just be a handy player, he may be a champion player. Most likely somewhere in between. Time will tell.People writing off Boyd now, is the equivalent of others writing off McCartin in 12 months time.

Exactly the same goes with Paddy, time will tell.
Its just the insane money that was paid for Boyd at such a young age that has people s******ing and shaking their heads.
There is a chance he could end up an absolute gun, but there is also a chance he just ends up a handy fwd/ruck like Kosi was. Thats not a knock on Kosi at all but a player like Kosi didnt deserve one of the biggest contracts ever like Boyd got.
The Boyd contract just seemed like a HUGE bit of spin doctoring they did to smooth over the pain their supporters were feeling after sacking the coach and the Captain walking out on the club.
Ironically since then the Doggies have been on the up and up but Boyd has had little to no impact in that rise. I dont think they needed a 7 million dollar gamble . They might need that money to keep Stringer, Libba, Bont, Wood etc etc.
We were going hard at Boyd and we apparently balked when the Dogs took it up to an astronomical price tag. We probably would have gone $750000 so it's a bit embarrassing to s****** when we would have done the same but our balls shrivelled when the price kept rising. It's as you say either a master stroke or a bust but it's way to early to call. I think Kosi worked because if they didn't respect him and left him free he scored, he also gave that tall target in the top of the goal square where Milne and co could clean up. The Dogs have Crameri and Stringer who are never going to be able to do that so it should round out their forward line well.
good... good...Steele Sidebottom offered 2 weeks which means he misses our match which is good news for us. Whilst I would never wish a serious injury against any player, Swan missing will also help us. The Pies midfield runs deep and Treloar looks awesome but it will help with no Swan or Sidebottom in round 3....if we play like we did for 3 quarters against Port we're in with a sniff!!!!
good... good...
I always love beating Collingwood (as well as Carlton and Essendon). I love shutting up the supporters with that awful Cooollllingggwoooooooooood chant! Swan and Sidebottom always do well against us.
Been waaaaaaay too long since we knocked them off. Reckon we are in with a huge chance in a couple of weeks. Swan always kills as, as does Sidebottom. We should play a hard tag on Pendlebury and back our mids to beat their other mids.
