Purple must subscribe to the theory that being talked about is better than not at all. Because no one can repeatedly make as many idiotic calls as he does.

This may come across really badly but I cannot stand Robert Murphy. I turn off 360 when he's on, he irritates me that much. I get that public do like him, but I feel the media has really gone over the top. He had his chance in finals in 2009 & 2010 & they failed, so it's not like he's in the Chris Newman & Matty Richardson category with the fairy tale story.

Anyway, that my 2 cents. I may sound like a heartless prick but I really don't care. No one batted an eyelid when Jackson Ramsay did his knee at training on Thursday morning.....
The "tragedy" talk was way over the top. Hate that word in football. Ridiculous. Nobody died, he didn't lose anything except maybe 12 months off his career, big deal. Perspective please.

Would feel it was tragic if we were playing like them next year and roo did his knee

Vert harsh. Seems like a top bloke and even if he isn't its very sad to maybe finish your career like that.

I think that because they are at different ends of their respective careers it makes all the difference. Bob may never play again and it would be sad to go out that way when his team is on the way to bring, if not actually, back in contention. Jackson will have a year off and come back next year. I am sorry for both of them. I don't like to see any players cut down with long term injuries.

yeah don't understand the murphy love. Good footballer, seems to be an alright bloke, but don't get anywhere near the good vibes off him most do. Could be from reading a few of his articles in the age, didn't think very much of them..

I lost the respect I had for Ross Lyon , when here in Perth , he would always drop the line , " I'm now at a fully resourced football club" , at any chance he could get. Ross thought free agency would make Fremantle a powerhouse , yet they struggle to get anyone. Whilst St.Kilda is a fair way behind the Dogs , and Demons in terms of young talent , we are miles ahead of Fremantle in that regard. The next time we play that test tube of a football side , the Barry Crocker's are going to get ripped apart by our young Saints team. I will expect him to hand in his resignation if an "unresourced" football club can do that , given how much he bangs on about it. Karma.... It's a beautiful thing !

What did we get ?

I think it's like the Seaford foreshore reserve and a paddock near Shepparton. Some clubs seem to have cleaned up...we weren't one that did.

Here is the maps. We seem to have an area of bayside but there are geographic zones that are huge like the Hawks Dogs and someone else had Victoria divided in three then a few metro areas were given to teams like us. It seems ridiculously unbalanced even taking population into account. The fact the we got one of the most monotone cultural regions on the planet so will struggle to find anyone for our academy is a bit laughable really.

They are so desperate for a tall that it might just cripple the club for a while

Neale leaving will hurt them pretty bad

havin' a sneaky rewatch of the second half against the pies. Very impressed with Billings' ability to run the game out. Was off the legs for a long while, so his tank still has a ways to go. Show's he's got the upstairs grit. Would love him to put in a similar performance against the dawks. Last week was his best game for us by far IMO and he'll get a lot of confidence from it. The whole team will too, just in general.
Dude you spelt the Hawks wrong.

Go back 15 years and you can just list all of the players that come from the Hawks zone.
I don't care what the OVERALL population is.
Its the number of footballing kids that make a difference.
How did this throwback to how the Hawks were gifted premierships in the 80's get over the line.

The teams that will have the most access to kids are teams like Essendon with the Tiwi Islands- they are a rich pickings up there and Melbourne got Alice Springs who also have a huge amount of players from indigenous backgrounds. The vic Riverena area is rich picking for the Tiges...just Mildura area alone would have been handy. Anyway at least we get all the African and Asian kids around Sandringham. Both of them might want to play footy. Seriously you couldn't find a more white bread area in Australia. I think we have some area out near Dandenong but some is other club zone. Hopefully we can get some Sudanese kids or Muslims out there.

Is religious background really one of the criteria? If so i'm sure we could convince the next big star to convert to Judaism or Jedi. AFL needs more Jedi.

Not sure that's entirely true, I'd say they're about on par, albeit in completely different roles. We were lucky we drafted Newnes for the Lynch pick in the 40's, otherwise we'd be kicking ourselves.

I reiterate..

Newnes>Lynch

You don't like the Dawks?

Clever ,just change one letter and it becomes a different meaning. The misspelling Dawk/Dork adds to the humour, obviously jesting that the Hawks are a group of socially inept people. Adding to the humour is the fact that it still rhymes with the original word.

No.

The the same way I don't like St Fiddler.

St Fiddler. This is a rather inept attempt of a similar thing, however the word Fiddler would seem to have very little in common with the original word Kilda.
Fiddler -- Kilda ... No ryme. In fact it seems hardly wittier than inserting any other random word after the St.
St Idiots. St Dishwashers St Fiddler. Whatever.

Now as to what Fiddler alludes to would also seem questionable, based on ridiculous hearsay that was later proven to be false information.

So no wit at all , just a nasty little piece of innuendo.

Go Dawks!!!!.

Is anyone surprised that we once again have been fingered?

Does the club have a say at all in this?
It seems to me we just keep taking things lying down. I cant see Eddie just accepting things that don't benefit his club. Have we been conditioned into a "small club syndrome"?
