Am I the only one that wonders why our club for the last 3-4 years has not gone after a mature aged KPD from the state leagues?

Have a look at the bulldogs with Adams, Adelaide with Hartigan and even Essendon with Hartley.. All those players are playing a role at their respective clubs, and we could've gone after any one of them.
Hell, our best Defender for the last decade was a mature age recruit from the state leagues in Sam Fisher.
Harry Taylor and Scott Thompson (Nth) were mature age recruits as well.

I know Coughlan was last year but he was only 19 and doesn't have an AFL body yet.

My point is, surely we could have plucked someone as a rookie, even if it was only as a backup.

adams is not a KPD just like we didnt consider francis to be a KPD, when he finally went up against a tall fwd he got absolutely smashed and bevo was forced to make a change/keep him as a free defender

Sorry but I Disagree.. He's a fair size and I've seen him play multiple times this year as a KPD and has done very well.

Also when did I ever say anything about Francis? Clearly he is not a KPD

First of all my original post was about recruiting a KPD with a late pick or rookie pick, from the state leagues, Adams was one of many examples, yet your first response is to take a dig at me because you don't think Adams is a Key defender, yet if you actually watch footy, which clearly you don't. You'd see that he plays on opposition Key Forwards, Like Bruce, Jenkins/Walker, Kennedy, Petrie/Waite/Brown. Want me to name any more key forwards or isn't that enough...
Now correct me if I'm wrong but does that not make him a KPD?

This Bio also describes him as a KPD.

Also 10 (1%ers) on the weekend would suggest that he spoils as well as intercepts.

So now that I have countered your pathetic argument.
Would you like to explain to me why he isn't?

AFL shouldve given them all sunday 4:40 time slots, they dont deserve pick 1 either hope the AFL grows a set and strips them of it

not a big ask to give each club at least one go on Friday nightand one go on Saturday night. Don't start me on access to the MCG.

Because they need to financially help them, like when the Dons cheated the salary cap and won a premiership- they don't get penalised. They lost access to a draft they would have had picks in the teens and to make it up to them they now get 2 years of top 5 picks. We will all be impressed with how clever they were making finals next year while we wallow.

They have had there AFL punishment. It seems you will continue to be upset because there is no way they are going to lose their first pick. Just out of interest why should the supporters be effected because of the clubs pathetic use of PEDS?

the supporters dont deserve it the club does, what was their punishment? losing 1 draft pick and a finals series, not enough jobe should be stripped of his brownlow aswell a disgraceful club

No have said they deserve it and won't change it. They will become reactive after the Dons go top 4 and then stop every other team in the future getting the same access. The AFL are shit under Giligan.

Its simple. Just win and be a bigger club. We got heaps of Friday night games in 10 and 11 and stuffed up by not making ourselves a bigger club.

They never got any penalty for cheating. They got a slap on the wrist for not filing paperwork in the right way. They missed out on finals for a year and had 2 first rounders taken away that would have been a pick in the mid teens and instead their cheating has netted them a pick 1 and a pick 5.

IM sure they lost 12 players from cheating. Pick 5? Why are they getting that? Have no idea why anyone would follow a sport you seem so angry about but I suppose we are all different.

I thought the club have only won one game because the players were punished. I think that then makes it a club punishment. And more importantly it makes it a supporter punishment. You can tell we got smashed this week bringing up things that are dead and buried even if people don't like it.
