do you think he'd get as many over the top cheapies at say brisbane?

No he wouldn't but I understand he would play a different role. If it is that easy why don't other players do what he does. Anyway I agree that it is embarrassing saying he is no good after one goal and then he kicks 7.

Turns out last week was a brilliant performance to get so close to Adelaide.

Us by 100 tomorrow.
Well when your consider the Eagles are at home but we had to play in Adelaide; we lost Fisher before the game and 4 stars during it, it certainly was a meritorious effort by the lads.

Richo will probably now reevaluate that performance and apologise profusely to the team.

And they'll respond by giving the Blues a right seeing to [emoji106]

Yes, & because it's Danger (or Selwood) the commentators just go along with it. If it had been Thomas, they'd have said it was a blight on the game & that he's acting & a cheat.

The hypocrisy is disgusting
Thomas does make it look the worst.
Just funny the way he went off at the ump, like hes never done it.
If u want to talk hypocrisy i would compare the way the commentary treat thomas and puopolo.. 2 peas in a pod, both huge actors. Yet ones a hero.

If it had all worked properly.

1)
Players/Club get busted.
2)
Players get penalised for a year. ( or less for copping it sweet ).
3)
Club gets stripped from draft picks as punishment.

Done - No problemo.

BUT the way it worked.
1)
Players/Club got busted.
2)
Club/Players ran for the lawyers and fought every inch of the way , while falsely proclaiming that they were co-operating.
3) Whole thing dragged out.
4) AFL got sick of waiting and investigated the club and penalized them by stripping their draft picks and premiership points.
5) Essendon WERE stipped of draft picks.

Now in an ideal world the stripping of draft picks would have coincided with the year the players were suspended but that obviously didn't happen.
But i have no issue with them now getting a draft pick, and yes it will probably be the first pick but big deal.

Its annoying that they found Merrett with their Crameri trade but if they'd had draft picks they might have grabbed Acres or Dunstan as well.
Or maybe they would have got Jake Lever the year later.

They've been punished. We really don't have a case to push to take more draft picks from them.

Depends where one comes from, a governance thing or something that is unrecoverable in player management.

Governance wise yes, the AFL have punished Essendon slightly above monetary wise what they did Carlton, Carlton had more draft sanctions, but there was and is a punishment. I however view this as a player management issue, and much like a school or work or any place where you give your kid to anothers care for a time, we still are no closer as to how these people will be impacted by their time at the club, they are people before they are footballers and they are someones son before they are a commodity to the AFL to determine if they've been aggrieved or not.

It was going to happen to someone, a club or multiple clubs were going to cross the line.

Can you honestly sit there and say that Essendon, as the club who did, deserve the ability to bring in young men into the club at this time? Remembering that it's a 2 year contract.

Because I don't, "my bad" and people falling on their swords whilst others wrote reports doesn't cut it, I don't trust Essendon as an establishment with anything sentient, because whilst say Carlton might have a van rock up with gold and diamonds and tell you to hush, Essendon would liquefy it, shove it in a suppository, demand you take it orally then claim it was a strawberry. One's a poor choice, the other is a betrayal of trust, and they lost it.

What gets me is the fact they all claim innocence and how angry they are at the club yet they're all resigning on after this supposed trust was broken, smells very fishy to me. Interesting to hear Paddy come out and say we were a bit nieve about it. The whole thing stinks and the sooner it's all over the better. They will never think they're in the wrong and the AFL royally ****ed it all up.

Given they didn't decide to remove the club from existence , at some point they will need to bring young players in.
