No but it's recognition for players under 22. How can those before mentioned spuds be recognised for anything but being semi peeled green potatos?
bah let the Collingwood spuds get overrated while our guys quietly go about their business. Only makes the media look like idiots.

LOL Essendon refuses Melb's 2nd for Hibberd which is pick 27 - it starts already. I'm so glad we dont have to deal with that cesspool of a club and that oxygen thief Dildoro!
What does he expect to get?
Afl will need to come into it to get the deal done and then sack that tosser

Agreed - he is the worst person in AFL recruiting by a country mile....no wonder historically Essendon have not done many deals at all....

They really have not managed to trade many effective players into their club.
Cooney. Had a good season this year, but lol was he really worth the 2 years, considering the player Sydney ended up with for the traded pick is on the cusp of getting a game with the number one team on the ladder?

Aylett and Edwards were worth the pick they traded to GWS ( GWS passed ).

They can thank us for Craig Bird.

Looking at their draft history there is nothing inspiring there either.
Their list building strategy seems to be based on getting hold of Cam Shenton type players, over hyping them to blazes then trading them for draft picks which they usually squander but sometimes hit a Merrett or Heppel.

Old mate Jonno Brown reckons Cyril is the best small forward of the century :$

It's always hard to compare players, Rioli probably has the best pressure game of the small forwards. Milney and Farmer probably stopped once the ball left their near vicinity so would find it harder to play today with out altering their style. Daicos was a bundle of party tricks but again probably would get left out due to his one way game now. Betts just a freak for turning possessions into goals. Milne was probably his most similar in style.

Shocking decision for the women to throw the banana at Betts but I will give her credit for apologising and taking the awareness course. She could have easily taken the easy option out and stayed low but I think shes realised her mistake and hopefully she can learn from it. Classy stuff from Betts as well, have a lot of respect for him.

I thought Port handled it very well. The way the indigenous boys wanted it handled was common sense and really classy, it wasn't vengeful and was designed to have a positive effect rather than divide. Kochie did well to actually think of the fact that she was probably struggling to cope with the justice by internet and gave her an out. Educating idiots will do more to change their attitudes that forcing them outside of the fold. It would have been extremely easy to ban her for life and let her become angry and resentful. Public opinion is usually on the side of swift justice so they could have just washed their hands of it.

BJ they got via free agency so doesn't count.....

As well as Gwilt and Lleuenberger.

Oh i found another one ... Paul Chapman.
I think the most significant player they traded in this century was Adam McPhee in 2002 ( Pre-Dodo and it seems to have been a horrible convoluted 3 way thing ).

LOL at Essendon loading up on players like Cooney and Chapman, presumably for their shot at finals.

By comparison significant players StKilda brought into the club by trade (ie negotiating with another team )
were:
Fraser Gehrig
Aaron Hammil
Jason Gram
Michael Gardiner
Schneider
Dempster
King
Ray
Peake
Hickey
Billy Longer
Josh Bruce
Carlisle

People who think we can't land decent players at StKilda are delusional.

Milne is a better player than Betts. Did it for longer, kicked 50+ in crap sides (early 2000's) as well as good sides. Both elite at ground level, Milne a better lead up forward and contested grab. He was a strong little bugger.

Favourite Milne memory, 2010 qualifying final. 3 goals in 5 minutes on Josh Hunt, ripped the game open. Was doing as he pleased against a 100kg beast, that play on snap for his 3rd in a row was right in front of me. Had been drinking a fair chunck of the afternoon and was sitting with some cocky Geelong mates. Dead set lost it when it through, absolute champion was Milney.

Funny

"The Greenfield Post can exclusively reveal that the Western Bulldogs’ Lin Jong is the expected replacement for Sidebottom, while Fremantle’s Zac Dawson is the preferred option to take Reid’s spot in the backline. Collingwood’s recruitment staff is also reportedly actively trying to coerce Josh Bootsma to enter back into the AFL system to replace Pendlebury as club captain.

Bucks loves the way all three go about it, and think that they can fit straight into his system and game plan of constantly turning the ball over by foot so the Pies can win the tackle count."

Below the knees rule is a joke head of umpiring saying Paddy gave away a free when he got injuried this is just terrible for the AFL
That bloke is a clown! Paddy's shoulder & head hit Vlastuin's knee.... That's not contact BELOW the knee

One thing you know is that the umpiring fraternity only see it the way they want too. They only admit anything when it's so blatant they can't keep a straight face spinning it.

not really surprising dal didn't get a contract he's slowed down big time this year, sad for dal tho my favourite player growing up
