Im just looking at this from a silly perspective at the moment and im in no way trying to trivialize what happend.
But what amazed me was that woman just stood up and quickly tossed the banana at Eddie. But if you watch it carefully you can see that if Jenkins didnt get in the way it wouldve hit Betts fair n square on the back of the head.
She might be a horses arse but geez what an arm:eek:

I think that it's a little closed- minded to refuse to read what may be a pertinent article just because it's written by someone you don't like.

Andrew Bolt has nothing to do with this, but I take my hat off to people like Caro and Rita who don't just tow the AFL company line and are prepared to question the decisions they make. More power to them.

I get the hypocrisy angle, but she's a bitter cynical shit of a woman. I find that style of commentary just a waste of time, it's dangling a piece of meat to create hysteria, the Swans are a willing opponent not the instigators. If their sponsors have a problem they will probably jump off it because clubs are so cash strapped anyone with money will win out. The AFL takes gambling money, has most clubs propped up on pokies etc. Does it mean that the work they do to combat racism and homophobia should be scrapped. I don't think so.

I'm sure as a person who believes in neo conservative values she would be investing in all kinds of industries that are less than savoury, does that mean she shouldn't have a position where she can moralise?

Of course there are hypocrisy issues with gambling etc but two wrongs don't make a right, and whoever the author of the piece is is not the issue.

The very fact that they are spouting off about equality and tolerance of the LGBTI community at the very same time they are negotiating with this sponsor is pretty ludicrous and hypocritical as far as I am concerned.
I don't care who wrote the article, I think it makes a very valid point.

Fair enough, I appreciate that there is hypocrisy but there are so many issues around that cause conflict with sponsorship, It's awful listening to Ox on the radio, SEN have about 4 different betting sponsors. He has had his issues with gambling yet goes on taking a wage from a company who makes a large part of its income from something that nearly destroyed his life. I believe you can keep your own yard clean and live with your own morals- you will drive yourself nuts hoping for a perfect world. I don't invest in anything I don't agree with morally but that's all I can do. If Sydney want a Million dollars a year from a despotic rogue nation they have to live with it.

You are right. I hate the gambling odds etc and hated centrebet sponsoring the Saints. Just saying that the article had a valid point no matter who wrote it.
At the end of the day ( I hate that saying) you have to live according to your own values and morals.

No way North or Essendon finish above us next year. Brisbane , Richmond , Gold Coast , Collingwood , Carlton , Freo and Port won't either , so we will in my opinion be competing with Hawthorn , West Coast and Geelong and the mental piss-ants at Melbourne for a spot in the 8. Will be surprised if we don't make it

A lot will come down to the fixture. We had a pretty easy draw this year, no doubt it will be harder in 2017.
