Not sure about a end of season meet n greet.
Bonus points there Snake.....very funny post !

I think BT's idea was a good one but for me.....it would be like going to a High School reunion.

Went to 2 reunions in consecutive years several years ago.........OUCH !!!!

Was with dct66 at open training today , after training got heaps of autographs from players including Roo as they walked around signing everything . For me I had The Point Of It All book . Richo didn't know what it was but said it looked good , got his autograph too . And of course I got Hugh Goddard s autograph first . He didn't train but did sign autographs . Dct66 took lots of photos , hope they turned out . I took some too but my camera isn't as good as his . They were also giving away free Saints board shorts according to the label they sold for about $70 but they gave them away . I got four pairs I just hope they fit lol. Also they were selling merchandise at a reduced price and judging by the queues they sold a lot . I got a Saints Hoody for $30 and dct66 got one too plus a Thanks Roo tshirt as well . I thought about getting a Maddie s match sleeveless jumper but since a rarely wear my red white and black one I decided I couldn't justify the cost .

Gaz/Danger/Jelwood should go alright next year
Unfortunately haha. Wouldn't be surprised if Gold Coast tell Geelong to get stuffed come trade period though, if Ablett refuses to play for Gold Coast for the remainder of his contract he may end up retiring early, and if he doesn't but sits out the season then the reputation of one of the all time greats is forever destroyed, in my opinion.

Haven't been keeping up with this thread but did anyone hear Mike Sheahan on 360 on Tuesday?? He described getting a phone call from Rod Butterss who told him that Barrett had called him to do an interview and he had no idea why but he did it.

Barrett literally called Rod out of the blue to get an interview about what went on just to get in on during Roos retirement. The bloke is a through and through campaigner.

Just had a flick through the fixture for this weekend.

Ideal results for Saints supporters as follows;

Friday 25/08 - Hawthorn v Western Bulldogs
Result: Western Bulldogs win by less than 28 points.

- Hawthorn can finish the season at worst in 13th spot if they lose and Collingwood win. Bulldogs need 28 points to overtake us on %, so they can still win tonight but if they win by less than 28, and we beat Richmond, they will be eliminated. To improve our draft position and knock the Dogs out of the finals race, this is the result we need.

Saturday 26/08 - Collingwood v Melbourne
Result: Collingwood win.

- If Collingwood can knock off the Demons and provided the Dogs beat the Hawks, Collingwood will move to 12th and Hawthorn to 13th, improving our draft position. A Melbourne loss won't affect us either way, however an unlikely Melbourne thrashing could shake things up a little, as our % is 8 points below theirs. We would need Collingwood to win by around 10 goals and for us to do the same to Richmond to jump the Demons on percent.

Sunday 27/08 - Essendon v Fremantle
Result: Fremantle win.

- This is the most important one, and we'll know where we sit early on in our game. We simply need Fremantle to beat Essendon as the Bombers are level with us on points but a whole heap of percent above us. If Fremantle win and we beat Richmond, we're in pending the Crows v Eagles. If Essendon win, we're out.

Sunday 27/08 - West Coast v Adelaide
Result: Adelaide win.

- Another big one, but the result may not matter depending on our game earlier in the day. West Coast are level with us on points but have a healthier percentage. If Adelaide win, and provided we do our job, we'll overtake the Eagles on points.

The remaining games of the round hold no bearing.

Let's not forget folks, the Dockers beat the soon-to-be Premiers in Round 23 last year.

Ross Lyon has swung the axe. I think the team looks better with some of those names not in it (I'm looking at you fat-truck McCarthy).

Essendon have brought back Watson so playing a man down. Also noticed Laverde on the bench and he shares DNA with the potato family. Also no Hurley arguably their best injector.

I've just got this funny feeling in my bones that this one is going to be closer than people think. Think Ross will be throwing everything at his chargers for this one; not a good look for the senior coach to enter a pre-season on the back of a thumping.

Dons by 18 goals.

And wouldn´t that be a pity with Ablett Snr & Jnr being remembered for things other than their genius footballing ability :(

Fremantle. You are a nothing club. I have no idea why Pavlich stayed as long as he did. Clearly unambitious. When you poached Lyon I went from complete apathy to a mild dislike. Your season has been putrid. If Eade was your coach he would have been sacked from that job too. Just do one thing before your season flickers out, will you? Go out there this weekend and scrap and hurt, play for your miserable careers and pinch a suprise victory. Do it.
