Yes, I have played competitive sport before, but that is totally irrelevant.

So you'd have no problem with a player using racist/sexist/homophobic remarks on the field? I mean that stuff happens in the real world and in such a testosterone fueled environment they should be able to say and do what they want (nice use of gender as an excuse for people behavior btw). Boys will be boys after all. Can't hold them to account given such extreme circumstances.

Or maybe people need to realise that words have meanings (even if you don't understand or accept those meanings) and can be hurtful to people directly and indirectly involved. If people can't deal with being held to account for the things they say, then the problem isn't 'political correctness' (a bullshit term) it's their lack of understanding and empathy for segments of society (often segments that are heavily marginalized and disadvantaged).
Now you're really talking shit. I'm in favour of racist, sexist and homophobic remarks? Really? I have never condoned that kind of thing - moving the argument into a different direction,, putting words into my mouth now are you? Good one. STFU you tool. You look to troll me once again and it's enough.

You don't know me or how I conduct myself so I don't need to justify myself to you. If you don't like what I say put me on ignore or STFU

You missed my point.

I knew you wouldn't think it's ok to say any of those things. But you seem to think it's ok to call someone a ****** (edit: the auto censor doesn't think it's ok to use the word Shaw used - no, Im not talking about the f word).

I'm not going to explain why that's wrong as I think it's pretty obvious.

I'd call your reaction over the top if politically correct is the wrong term.
Is it slanderous to stupid people if you call someone an idiot?
Are footy players in the heat of the moment not allowed to say anything apart from " well excuse me sir but i disagree strongly with what you just did ".

You need to get over it.
You don't like the term political correctness, because you are a proponent of it.

If you think the point I'm making is one against sledging then you are way off track. I don't have any real issue with sledging (apart from thinking it's pointless). What I do have an issue with is people not understanding the impact the words they use can have and then acting like the victim when someone points it out.

Idiot isn't a derogatory term that refers to a group of people who through no fault of their own are highly disadvantaged in society. ****** is. There is a difference.

He has the cattle? They've been hit extremely hard by injuries and have been playing a hell of a lot who have played less than 10 games or whatever. Might have been 7 in one game alone or something ridiculous like that.

Tonight they had about 4 or 5 playing who would have been underdone because they haven't played any lead-in games.

Longmire wouldn't even be close to getting sacked.
I strongly disagree parker, Hannelberry, Kennedy, Jack is a very very good midfield. The you add in Mills, buddy, Jones, wayward, sinclair/tippet etc.

The fact is since Sydney loaded up for him bringing in Buddy, Tippett. He should have won a flag at the very least. He didn't do it.

2012 was amazing result but the reality is the list has improved since then yet they've gone backwards

North/Pies/hawthorn/carlton/gc/brisbane don't have anywhere near the list of sydney

Idiot refers to people who have IQ within a defined ( low ) range.
Idiots are people too, its not their fault they are not smarter.

To take the line drawing argument the other way, are you OK with derogatory language based on race/sex/sexual orientation on the field?
What makes something a heat of the moment sledge vs something that actually crosses the line in your mind?

I don't draw lines.
Very often i don't give a shit.

I certainly aren't going to feel offended on behalf of people with a mental condition, who erroneously associate themselves with the word "******" and then may or may not be offended by Shaw's words. That is what people are referring to as too much "political correctness". People getting offended on behalf of others.

Telling people they need to consider the full impact of the words they use (and therefore, alter the words they use) isn't being offended on behalf of people.

Seems like you are getting offended at the idea that people should be fully accountable for their actions. Otherwise I can't see why you'd be so defensive.

On our part of the AFL website , our ladies team has individual photos up. One of the half forwards looks so much like Jack Billings ... wow. Any chance someone with actual computer skills can put up their photos side by side , thanks.

Helps that they have a massive home ground advantage every second week and are pretty much guaranteed an armchair ride from those umpiring in those games!
just quietly if i was WCE football boss, crazy vozzo, i'd be shitting bricks

adam simpsons entire game plan is built around a long narrow ground. its why players like yeo, mcgovern, nic nat etc are so effective

the new perth stadium which they move to next year is closer to the MCG dimensions
