Boyd should be a good player long term but he was struggling at NEAFL level so he's not going to walk up and score bags of goals. Likewise Hogan comes with huge fan fare but dominating a lesser comp hardly guarantees success at the highest level. I see Boyd as another Hawkins, he will play a few games with little output early on but in 5 years will dominate a few defenders with height and strength. Boyd has ben suggested will play as a ruck early on to get him into games so Bevo must be a little worried the fans are going to have over the top expectations of what he's capable of. I hope they don't break him down like we did to Kosi.

you would think that Kosi must love the Saints alot as otherwise he would've sued them. He couldve sued 'Training Services', Gia separately the way we treated Kosi.

Yup, Boyd is certainly a slow burn. Even with an extra year in the system I see Paddy developing into an AFL ready forward before Boyd and I'm in no way saying Paddy has the better overall career. Hogan is similar to Paddy. Even know it was a lesser comp he still dominated in the best senior national comp (outside of the AFL) and won the B&F as a 17 year old. That suggest to me his transition to AFL will be about as streamlined as any big forward we've seen in recent years.

Boyd to me doesn't look like an old school full forward that plays all his minutes in the forward 50 arc. I see him developing into a forward/ruck much like Brad Ottens. Boyd to me just doesn't have the natural agility or ability to collect the ball below his knees like some of the other young forwards (Cameron, Daniher and Hogan). His turning circle is like the queen mary and he reminds me of a baby giraffe. He will develop but I have my doubts whether he can stay in the forward 50 like he did at junior level when he dominated 16 and 17 year olds....Paddy didn't have the same height advantage....Daniher was build like a stick insect.

Geez the Doggies have invested a lot into Boyd....They were always going to lose Griffen but he being contracted they could have pushed GWS to compensate them in the way of pick 4 (pick 7 at worst)....Kept pick 6....Taken Peter Wright to address their need for a KPP/ruck and De Goey or Pickett to add to the midfield....and kept 1 mill a year in the kitty....

Karmichael Hunt's drugs arrest is starting to sound more and more like a club wide issue. Multiple players being investigated for at least 2 years. I just hope to hell that Hickey and Weller have nothing to do with it.

Wouldnt suprise me if the club has had a quiet word about it to both of them

Sounds more like issues with the titans. The Gold Coast article sounded like a desperate guess work by two journalists

They left half their best 12 or so at home. This is like the team Freo sent over for our game against them in R23 two years ago. Boekhorst looked OK when I saw him evade two tackles and take a run though.

I understand that but just a general comment, what the **** are they doing? Mediocrity at it's... well not finest, most mediocre?

That would be huge for Dogs. Tough luck for the kid.
Feel very sorry for Libba. I rate him as a very good player and you dont like to see any player hurt.
As for the doggies supporters. After yrs of hearing them booing Harvey for 'apparently ' stealing the brownlow off Grant.
Then them calling Nick a 'diving sook' after beating them in both prelims....meh.

Shiel got 39 touches in intraclub, Treloar a lazy 30. I don't care if it's one of these guys, Sloane or similar - I really want to get someone special next year for our midfield
