Still high contact... Free kick every day of the week. The outstretched arm clotheslined him FFS, how can it not be a free kick for high contact!?Apparently you can now perfectly and legitimately spoil the ball, have an opposition player run into your outstretched arm, and give away a free for high contact.
Ridiculous. SMH.
Rubbish Rors.Still high contact... Free kick every day of the week. The outstretched arm clotheslined him FFS, how can it not be a free kick for high contact!?
Wasn't the spoiling arm, it's was the other arm that made the contact... Clear as day that it's a free kickRubbish Rors.
He was in the action of spoiling, had done so and Wingard ran into his arm. Was never, and should never have been, a free kick.

So what your saying is that as long as one arm spoils the ball, the other arm can do whatever it likes.... Pffftttt now that's ridiculousRubbish Rors.

We're not going to agree on this...So what your saying is that as long as one arm spoils the ball, the other arm can do whatever it likes.... Pffftttt now that's ridiculous

First Hodge's bump of Wingard's head into the post.... then that goal review clearly off Cyril's arm is called a goal....
**** I hate these sniping, cheating bunch of piss & shit coloured campaigners

So what? People get other players high all the time with their knees when going for the screamer, often right in the back of the head, yet were fine with that. There's no element of intent with high contact. You either hit them high or you don't. He clearly hit him high.
A knee when taking a screamer is far different to the non-spoiling arm wrapping around someone's neck, accidental or not, and clothes lining them... What's Wingard supposed to do, he running to mark the ball too. A defender comes in from the side, makes the spoil first, making high contact with THAT spoiling arm (that's fine by me - play on), but in the process his other arm comes through & wraps around his neck & clotheslines Wingard.... I say its easily a free kickSo what? People get other players high all the time with their knees when going for the screamer, often right in the back of the head, yet were fine with that.
The problem is that Wingard tried to mark the ball like I do playing thirds footy and cops it high. If it was a genuine under the ball marking attempt I think the high contact was not incidental and a free is there. But what was Gibson supposed to do when Wingard dives in horizontally in what looks more like a smother then a mark?A knee when taking a screamer is far different to the non-spoiling arm wrapping around someone's neck, accidental or not, and clothes lining them... If it happened to Rooey & wasn't paid, we'd be calling for the umps head
I guess Cyril has to be classed as elite cos when he gets plenty of It he is A-grade with skills and decision making. What about the way Cyrill taps the ball though?
Lockett, 12 touches = 11 goals 1 point that's eliteI guess Cyril has to be classed as elite cos when he gets plenty of It he is A-grade with skills and decision making.
But.......has there ever been an elite player who regualy gets so few possessions?
At half time he had had 4 touches.
Hes very good but he goes missing A LOT.

Shithouse act wasn't it! The angst & forceful purpose with which Hodge knew exactly what he was doing, you can read it on his face as he braced for the bump, knowing exactly where the post was....Dog act by Hodge IMO ramming Wyngard's head into the post.
Just watching the replay now and its lucky there wasn't a broken neck right there.
Hope he gets 4 weeks for being a sniper like that.![]()
