Would be a genuine list clog IMO. i.e. his current output would probably exceed Paddy for the next year or two, but the opportunity cost of that, the loss of exposure and experience for Paddy/Bruce/Membrey/White is far too high a price to pay. Those 4 all have significantly more potential than a massive bloke who can't drop the ball onto his boot properly. Likewise, Bruce and Membrey have both shown very sticky hands in patches, and so there isn't a need for him at all.
See, I don't necessarily agree with that; he's no world-beater, sure, and his kicking can make Travis Cloke look like Ian Stewart at times, but lets leave the incredible withering stupidity of Carlscum posters suggesting he's worth anything like what they did last year and look at it dispassionately.

The Positives:
- he's 199cm and 103kg; that's taller than all but 4 blokes on our list - one of who is a rookie - and heavier than all bar the same bloke. He's huge.
- he's only 25; not yet in his prime for a big bloke and in a handy age bracket for our list.
- he's shown more as a ruck than any of our forwards, even Brucey.
- he's show much more than any of our rucks as a forward.
- he's got incredible hands in a contested situation.

The Negatives:
- he's got the agility of QEII.
- he's not a high possession winner.
- he's a very patchy kick.
- he doesn't strike me as a 'smart' footballer.

He'd be handy insofar as Bruce could play as a full time forward, his massive rig won't get battered taking on the likes of Sandilands and Mumford, and he'd be more than useful as the target of any hail mary-type kicks to the top of the square (just don't let him kick from any further out). He only averages a goal a game or so over his career, but he's capable of the odd bag.

As I said, the price would have to be right, and I mean REALLY right, and I wouldn't exactly go seeking it out, but I'm not so certain that I'd say no if that offer came a-knocking.

What's he like with shanks, helicopters and widow-makers?

Two observations:
The umpires are doing everything to get the Tigers over the line
Jack Watts is as weak as piss

Feel for Nathan Drummond doing a cruciate ligament in his knee half way through his first game.
Gutsy attempt to mark eyes only on the ball (Rooey-style) running with the flight of the ball straight towards the oncoming Nathan Jones.
Did not flinch ....... until he landed.

Can i just say. If you want to know what it means to have a good coach. Just watch what Melbourne are doing to the tiges tonight.
Richmond is meant to be 3 years in front of the dees... Paul Roos take a bow.
The way hes got this team playing in less than 2 years is amazing... like a completely different team from what he took over.. Very Impressive.

Thats why im always saying how important it is to get a good coach.. Most Important.
I agree. To be fair though, you can't coach goal-kicking & Richmond have killed themselves in this game. Scores should be about level but for the shocking inaccuracy

I'm baffled by how great everyone has been saying Rance's form has been, and their surprise at how Hogan has towelled him up tonight... Richmond have played Carlton (they have shit forwards), Bulldogs (have average forwards), Brisbane (have shit forwards) - is it any wonder Rance has been playing well, he's barely had a true AFL-standard opponent this year.

Rance is seriously overrated IMO, one swallow does not make a summer

I think they are more referring to his 2014 form when he was AA.

But that's what I mean too... One swallow does not make a summer

In all likelihood, his last year was like Chris Dawes' 2010 when he was a star... The reality is that he's actually pretty ordinary

Reminds me of a young Carey.

He leads up nice and contests a good grab but he only kicked 2 goals. I watched the last half and the way they were talking I thought he'd kicked 12 goals. I was shocked when I checked the app.

Ordinary is harsh, I think he's a good player. However I agree with you he's not an absolute gun. Harry Taylor has been playing the standard he's started at this year for several years.

He better do something with his hands if he's gonna be a champ, they're Rock hard.

His presence in the contest and at ground level was huge. Rance was sh!tting bricks every time the ball got near Hogan. It was just his aura, and his contested marking, just using his chest to get leverage to mark the ball. Reminds me of Jonathan Brown. Fearless too.
