See, I don't necessarily agree with that; he's no world-beater, sure, and his kicking can make Travis Cloke look like Ian Stewart at times, but lets leave the incredible withering stupidity of Carlscum posters suggesting he's worth anything like what they did last year and look at it dispassionately.Would be a genuine list clog IMO. i.e. his current output would probably exceed Paddy for the next year or two, but the opportunity cost of that, the loss of exposure and experience for Paddy/Bruce/Membrey/White is far too high a price to pay. Those 4 all have significantly more potential than a massive bloke who can't drop the ball onto his boot properly. Likewise, Bruce and Membrey have both shown very sticky hands in patches, and so there isn't a need for him at all.
The Positives:
- he's 199cm and 103kg; that's taller than all but 4 blokes on our list - one of who is a rookie - and heavier than all bar the same bloke. He's huge.
- he's only 25; not yet in his prime for a big bloke and in a handy age bracket for our list.
- he's shown more as a ruck than any of our forwards, even Brucey.
- he's show much more than any of our rucks as a forward.
- he's got incredible hands in a contested situation.
The Negatives:
- he's got the agility of QEII.
- he's not a high possession winner.
- he's a very patchy kick.
- he doesn't strike me as a 'smart' footballer.
He'd be handy insofar as Bruce could play as a full time forward, his massive rig won't get battered taking on the likes of Sandilands and Mumford, and he'd be more than useful as the target of any hail mary-type kicks to the top of the square (just don't let him kick from any further out). He only averages a goal a game or so over his career, but he's capable of the odd bag.
As I said, the price would have to be right, and I mean REALLY right, and I wouldn't exactly go seeking it out, but I'm not so certain that I'd say no if that offer came a-knocking.
