Wow Essendon supporters are touchy. Dont like being reminded about last week.

I actually got an infraction in the game day thread for lol'ing @ one of them calling Baguley a champion.

All I said was an herein lies the biggest problem and delusion of Essendon overrating their list.

Really how we allowed them within 20 goals of us is disgraceful

Think Lonie will have a much easier AFL career than Daniel. You can get away with being smaller as a forward than you can as a mid, and Lonie has a lot more of that forward instinct that he has.

He's still ferocious, and has plenty of pure footy talent, but it's even beyond the physicality aspect. He's a bit of a defensive liability in the marking contest that is more likely to hurt the team the closer to your own goal you play.

I really really hope he does go on and make it, but I'm glad we picked Lonie ahead of him.

Gold Coast went completely missing that quarter.

Hurley on Hogan and Hurley's been very good. BJ and Gwilt have also been very good. Gwilt'd disposal good in the back half. BJ playing well in the middle going in hard.

Laverde has hardly been sighted. 5 disposals playing forward I think.

Melb coming hard, 2 points down look the better team. 6.18, they've missed some sitters.

Gwilt playing on a relatively short Dawes was always going to be a good match up. Playing him on a much taller opponent in Bruce last week was like what the Saints used to do with him.
Gwilt is not even 190cm, yet he gets the job on all the really tall guys, and then people think he's no good. Still an underrated player when used correctly.

Tom Boyd is no chance of becoming a quality player, I am 100% convinced. Apart from being a 1 trick pony, what makes me even more convinced is his demeanour. Absolutely no mongrel in him whatsoever. Even the Doggies board are saying they need another forward, they don't want to come out and say it but they are essentially admitting the great white hope is giving them SFA.

Suns tanking like crazy
One of the most pathetic capitulations I've ever seen at AFL level.

The Dogs weren't bad, but let's not pretend they were irresistible in the last half. The Suns simply stopped trying.

I maintain that the Dogs are cooked, but I'll retract my comment about Gold Coast. That was heartless and weak. Sure they lost Dixon, but a turnaround like that is inexcusable.

Tom Boyd should not be playing he's clearly not ready for the big time. For his own development he should be playing VFL. It's like they're only playing him to justify the massive contract he's on. Just a side note as well: you rarely see him animated and celebrating his team mates goals. He only celebrates if he's directly involved/kicked it himself.

I've said it all year but gaff is by far the best wingman in the comp and should be a lock for AA, however their most underrated player is shappard.

Always a great time to celebrate when poor clubs like the Doggies climb above the privileged and minted Collingwood on the ladder.

Saints are travelling better than half the teams in the Comp.

Geelong ...done
Melbourne ... Lost the idea of scoring
Essendon ...travelling on empty
Gold Coast ...not interested playing as a team for whole game.
Brisbane ....no depth..
Carlton.. Honeymoon over reality is they are no good.

That circle in the centre after Eagles v Crows was one of the most emotional things I've ever seen. Brutally tough to not shed a tear & feel for those Crows boys. Can't even begin to imagine what it was like for them to play tonight.
