I actually don't think so. I'd say Wines is pretty up there, probably in the top 30-40mids in the comp already. He dominated Fyfe in last year's semi final. He's probably gonna explode even more this year, I would take Wines over Macrae FWIW.
but like I said, the gap has narrowed considerably

For what it's worth, Billings' game against West Coast where he had 25 disposals at 100% efficiency, 8 marks and 3 goals was just as good as Bontempelli's NAB challenge performance.
just look at some of his games, his play speaks for itself, the guy can play any position, kouta anyone?

Hey ease up we finished 2nd on the imaginary nab challenge ladder. This year is the year we jump over the prelim hurdle surely.

:drunk:
C'mon man I thought other dogs supporters wouldn't be such shit posters like this King Bont peanut. But you've just put your shoe into the basket. ;)

For a second year player to be a proven match winner, and be getting the opposition teams #1 tagger at 19 and be playing as a 194 cm midfielder, their just simply isn't many of those that have been produced, a far cry from a Dunstan and Billings type each draft produces 70-80% of those types of players and size
Can we actually wait until he's a 'proven match winner' before calling him one??? Is that too much to ask?

We could sit here & say Jack Billings' 19 possessions, 5 inside 50s & 2 goals was a match winning effort in our game against Essendon in round 5 last year.... And that was only his 2nd game of AFL footy!!!

Yep, Jack Billings is a without a doubt a matchwinner :thumbsu:

Sweet baby jesus, mate just look at these

http://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/ ... pelli.html

Bont's stats last year in a much better team

compared to Jacks last year - injured in preseason and had an injury filled draft year

pretty similar - just makes it more exciting to see what jack will do when he gets on the park

So please stop with your kouta comments and your billings is a dime a dozen ones. How do you defend that billings played predominantly forward last year in the wooden spoon team and have identical stat's to your messiah Who was playing alot more midfield in comparison?

I'd call billings a match winner! Absolute jet! That's why I raised the question! 13 draft could go down as one of the greats, cheers for the debate guys, and good luck for the season, seems like both our teams will need it!

25 disposals at 100% against the Eagles. Now he's only 19 but that's once in a generation sort of stuff!

From the dogs board:
Bont = Ferrari
Dunstan = your old favourite tractor
billings = the next Shaun Higgins

For a team that has been rebuilding and hasn't gone anywhere for about 5 years they are a cocky bunch.
Still bitter from those prelims.

That Ferrari probably won't ever play in a grand final since the Western Shitdogs fail in prelims.

I enjoyed watching the dogs the other night, great footy.

Doesn't bother me if they are ahead in their rebuild, is what it is.

Forget Bontempelli, he will spend the rest of his career measuring up to this hype along with Boyd. I am already feeling sorry for them now. The mtachup I want to see is Jack Lonie vs Caleb Daniel head to head!

du

dunstan was pick 15, and we know the bigger inside mids always start out quick and the skinnier type kids eventually always catch them, look at ollie at port
Hahaha christ man.. perhaps I was being too subtle for you?

We started our rebuild a couple years earlier than you boys, you blokes were still playing finals while we were drafting top 5

Lol no you were not.

You finished 10th in 2011 (the last year we played finals) and due to the GWS concessions your first pick was pushed back to 17th overall.

2012 we missed finals and began to seriously look at rebuilding by letting Goddard go.
